What happened to the sweet, easy to look at forum that wasn't clogged up with all of the "new" classifieds and all of the look at my stuff for sale? I still found what I was looking for and didn't have to go through 5 pages just to see what was new to learn from? Not impressed.

I mean, if you go to the main new post page then you’re going to see new posts from across the forum. If you don’t want to see classifieds then don’t go to the main new post page that includes all posts. Go to the section that you’re interested in and there won’t be classifieds. That’s kind of the point of it being a forum.

Why don't we have a "new posts of classifieds" and all of the "10 in a row of someone's up again today posts" put in a separate column so that the rest of us that want to learn and share knowledge don't have to waste time skimming through the new garage sale posts. Then those that want to see what they just can't live without can go to a special spot.

Why do we have to change to make you guys happy? Just keep scrolling, it’s easy to see “classified” in the post.

I keep seeing all these posts about the forum changes. I'm not sure how some of you use the forum, but for the last 8 years I have been going into each individual sub forum, reading the thread titles and contributing to the ones I'm interested in.

I certainly found myself not spending as much time here when the classys were gone.

I like to buy stuff almost as much as telling people how my way is better than their's.

I imagine it's whatever generates traffic to the site is what matters to the wallet.

If you click "What's new" it refreshes to the latest talking posts only, all classified posts are filtered out of it. That was a somewhat recent change but does what you are looking for.

EDIT: Looks like this changed again back to how it was and shows some WTS posts...?

Why?

Because i think Forums (all of them) were far more interesting before they became 60% people only wanting to buy stuff, 30% people trying to figure out how to scam those people, and 10% people talking about huntin and fishin.

I think this has alot to do with my post above about how you view the forum. If I don't look at the classifieds I don't see the classifieds. I stay in the subforums I have interest in. If I want to buy something I look at the classifieds. The only thing I see on this forum is people discussing topics in subforums that are relevant to the topic at hand.

Yep, i get that. But what i’m driving at is back in the day there were way more people contributing different things. Now most are on a forum such as this to either buy, sell ya something, or worse scam ya. And yes, i realize those good old heydays of forums and even hunting are long gone don’t mean you can’t wish it were that way still once in awhile.

Have a good one man.

I don’t mind the classifieds.

It would be nice though if they separated the “firearm” classifieds though. I think there should be one for actual firearms, one for ammo, and one for accessories/parts.

Its just inconvenient when you want to shop for a new gun and you find 50 posts of “3pcs of 6.5 big butt licker mag used brass for sale”

So usually I just don’t even go there anymore. But anyhow that’s just how I feel about it.

^^ This ^^

It really wasn't that long ago that new posts in the classifieds came up with all the other new posts and it had been like that for a long time.
Then, they were gone.
Now, they are back.
I like that I can see ALL new posts with one click.

Am I the only be who browses the forum based on which section I want to view at the time? Do you guys really just check the newest postings and go from there? I could give two shits about 80% of the forum I don’t visit on a regular basis so why would I want to sift through it?

I mentioned this in a similar post. If you want to see only certain sections you can click on follow and choose to be notified by email or not. Then any topics you want to see are all filtered in your notification tab. You can pretty much customize what you see.
