Defective Kowa 66a

After much deliberation I pulled the trigger on my first alpha glass. Once I set her up I immediately noticed the speck on the top left corner in the image. It wasn't visible at 25x but as I zoom thru it showed between 40-50 then disappeared again at 60. I inspected surface of eyepiece and spotter and couldnt find anything on a lens surface. I suspect it's the eyepeice.
I called Kowa and they gave me an RMA and UPS label so kudos for that appears to be responsive customer service. Hoping to have it back before my mid April spring grizzly hunt.

I’ve seen this in a lot of alpha scopes. I thinks it’s pretty conmon.

My kowa has it too. Too lazy to return it but I guess I should.

I had a spec in an eye piece recently after a wreck, sent it back to be checked out for piece of mind first, then when I got it back was checking it out and seen the spec at about that 40x sent back they gave me a new one.

Just got a phone call from Kowa. They're shipping a new scope/eye piece to me today. Great customer service experience. Looking forward to glassing for bear dens in a little over a week.

Long overdue update. Spotter worked great but couldn't find any boars. Getting to see three cubs just after breaking out of their den and then seeing momma emerge was pretty awesome. Spotted a lot of caribou too but they are super easy to find. Was a great week in the mountains regardless.
