Trijicon Credo 1-6x24 FFP: Defective AR glass coating, or just how it is?

Recently purchased a Trijicon Credo 1-6x24 FFP and immediately noticed a pretty bad glare on the inlet glass that doesn't seem to go away (indoors or out, min or max zoom, illumination on or off). Hard to describe what I'm talking about, but it's as though instead of entirely looking through the scope, some of the image is being reflected backwards and I'm seeing the sky behind me.

Took out my Nightforce SHV 4-12 F1 to make sure I wasn't going crazy and sure enough there's no reflection. Based upon the difference, I need to determine which of the following is going on with this Credo:

1. The scope anti-reflective coating is defective and it needs to go back to Trijicon to be repaired and then should be fine
2. All Trijicon Credos (or all of this model 1-6FFP, or whatever) are like this
3. This is somehow related to the fact it's only a 24mm objective (although that doesn't make too much sense to me as the reflection is very obviously happening at the inlet occular lens side)

I tried to take a picture to show what I'm talking about., but didn't come out great... The issue is that the reflections you can see against the black scope shadow are quite visible and distracting on the image itself (not just the black surround), irrespective of where my eye is relative to the scope in 3 dimensions.

Appreciate your help!
