Dead Air Nomad Ti XC

I’m talking about the end that threads to the barrel, front cap, end cap whatever it’s called. I’m interested if there’s a lighter mounting option for direct thread.
That's a direct thread hub adapter. End cap is on the muzzle end of can. I think the rearden hub ti adapter is the lightest option. Your question has been asked many times here.

In stock where I bought mine.

If your wanting 1/2-28 go over to otter creeks site and they have them on clearance for $30.
Thanks for the link, looks cool. I need to think about it though, I’m not sure 90 bucks for 1oz matters when I could swap my shv 3-10 for an accupoint 3-9 and lose +\- half a pound.

Thanks for sharing this I bought 4

I shot mine this weekend on a 18” 6C.

I compared to a nomad LTi and DD STi.

I think it’s closer than it should be to the LTi being a few inches shorter and a smidge better than the STi. Overall I’m impressed. Like that all three of these can interchange endcaps (to include the ebrake).

I have a Scythe but didn’t compare this weekend. In previous comparisons I have the STi just a smidge ahead of the Scythe.

I have videos but they are tough to tell difference and have steel ringing in background which muddies it a bit too.

No I don't think it's marketed towards gas guns, but they did mention that it has lower back pressure than the older nomad ti.

The TI XC is a little over an inch longer than the Sycthe with a flat front cap, and a little over an ounce heavier. IF the XC has 3-5 db more of sound suppression then that might not be abad trade off. If not, then I personally think the Sycthe is still the front runner for a lightweight can.

Why is it you believe 3d printed cans are the future? Ease of manufacturing? Or do you think they have functional benefits over traditional welded cans?
👍
Edit 10/15/24
I have one here on a form 3 and will be testing it head to head against a scythe ti. Will also compare it to a DD Enticer Lti even though its not a direct comparison like the scythe.
If any of you have specific questions or testing you want to see, let me know.

How did you get your factory end cap off??? I can’t really hold the can with enough force to break the cap free. I’m hesitant to stick it in a vice or use the 2nd wrench on the can and Jack up the finish on the can.

I got the rearden adapter today, I want to install it.

You asking about the rear end cap or front? Rear cap, use the spanners that came with the supressor. The front cap, I used the dead air ebrake wrench. My other suggestion would be to find some nails that are same size as the end cap holes, install 4 of them at 90 degree corners to form a square, get a couple of screw drivers, make and X shape of the screw drivers inside the nails protruding, engage opposing nails with the screw drivers and see if you can use that force to get the end cap off. A 30 minute soak in a carbon solvent may be needed prior to attempting this.

This is the ebrake wrench.

I’m talking about the rear and cap, I got the rearden titanium adapter but that Fred air factory direct thread thing is on super tight.

There are spanner wrench notches in the supressor body, as well as the rear cap. I bought a lti xc and ti XC at same time so I had multiple spanners, two together worked well for me. I cannot remember if each supressor came with one or 2 spanners.

Mine was super tight, too. I had to use a dead blow hammer on one of the spanners to knock it loose. using both wrenches, I set it up so they were fairy close together (and in the right direction), set the suppressor and spanner on the bench and smacked top one to get the thing loose.

Its kind of hard to explain, but basically set the wrenches like you were going to squeeze the handles together to loosen it and hit the appropriate one with the hammer.

I have the 2 spanner wrenches but I don’t want to mark up the tube. Did yours do any damage?

Did that take any paint off the Maine tube?
