Dead Air Nomad Ti XC

I have ebrake on my Ti XC and LTI XC. They do make a difference. Will compare to the recoilX when those come in.
Have you received the recoilx brakes yet? I’m going to get one or the ebrake and would like a little more feedback first.

Edit: nevermind, saw the thread on the hide and ordered one for the xc.

The difference in recoil between flat end cap and the RecoilX on my 6.5 PRC was stunning. I went from struggling to spot impacts at 300-400 yards to catching splash at 100. Highly recommend it, I may even run them on my hunting rifles this year. I have on sitting on my work bench for my 22CM with a DD wolf Hunter to see if it gets it close to zero recoil lol.

Please explain the recoilx brake. I’ve seen the ebrake and have a scythe, so I understand the principal, just haven’t heard of the recoilx.

Any recommendations on covers for the Nomad? Was in the Billings scheels and the guy recommended an Armageddon cover. Also see that BPG makes one specific for the Nomad. $90 for the Armageddon vs $200 for BPG.

I grabbed a BPG from scheels when I bought mine hoping it stays put and reduces mirage a little more than others. Have a AG one on my ultra 7 and it works but it is more prone to moving around than some others.

It’s just an aftermarket end cap brake that reduces recoil more than the e brake or anchor brakes. I’m primarily getting it for a match rifle to spot shots better and maybe use with magnums. Don’t think I’ll use or desire it for hunting unless using a magnum.

After some searching, I may just get an ebrake. I’m shooting a 25cm so I don’t need the recoil reduction. If I ever get a can for my muzzleloader I’d be interested in the recoilx

Yessir, the recoilX caps really do work well! I can free recoil an 18# 6.5 Creed off a barricade and see impacts at 500y. The volume increase is noticeable, and I still wear ear pro(always accept when hunting w/ can) but I did take the ear pro out for a few rounds to see how it was, and honestly as long as your in open area and not under an awning or something, ear pro may not be needed. However, I always recommend it.

So does the Ebrake on the end of Nomad make it louder than without the brake?
Its a different sound for sure. Without a way of measuring difference id think its not too big of a deal though, maybe %10 difference? Ive shot the lti xc and ti xc with and without spun on a 26” 300 rum, 212,s 88.4gr , 20” 308, 185’s 42 gr, switched back n forth etc… the e brake on rum keeps target in sight picture at 100 with lti xc and well worth the extra noise witch for my ears was fine for a couple shots. The ti xc the e brake still was worthy on 308, added little noise but even better recoil reduction. Im thinking of only using these cans with e brake as the weight/noise penalty is offset by a nicer recoil impulse and site picture. Although the rum without a shorter barrel i prefer a side baffle brake only. In the end the e brake is added value, good luck.
