SG issues??

Coming from a KUIU backpack wanted to try something different for comparison. I'm really torn right now as the SG packs have so many good reviews but I just don't feel like I can get this thing to feel right. So Im 6'3'' and feel like that I just can't get the load lifter to function like it should. Seems to almost be horizontal vs the typical 45 degree type deal that most people suggest. I am getting a lot of weight on my shoulders because of it. I also find the belt no as comfortable as the kuiu pack and seems to be a lot more pressure/rubbing from them with 65lb load. I've watched all the videos on fitting with hip belt across the hip bone, black transition at the collar bone etc but hoping I might be missing something easy.
Beginning to think that I just need that taller frame size with another manufacturer, but I also see other tall people running those packs. Any suggestions??
 
I’m 6’ tall but short torso and running an SG xcurve frame but EXO is the next step. Sg works but could be better.

I’m a similar body type, any idea why EXO would be a better fit than SG?

For a 45-degree lifter angle, you need a frame that is tall enough for your torso height, and you need that frame to be properly fitted to your spine in order to prevent slippage. If the Kuiu isn't working for you, it's either too short, not fitted properly, or both.

Don't read too much into what other tall people are doing. Overall height and torso height are two different things, and most people wouldn't know what a properly fitted pack feels like anyway - they just assume shoulder discomfort is part of the equation.
 
I would try a larger belt and move the shoulder straps down to raise the pack up.

How is a larger belt size going to give him a better load lifter angle? If anything, it'll increase the risk of him bottoming out the webbing, which will make the slippage ten times worse.
 
Try adjusting the position of your lumbar pad. Move it up or down as necessary to position the pack closer to your back. I’m the same height as you. For a skinny guy I have a pretty good shelf at my butt. I had to move my lumbar pad up the pack for everything to hug my back. This doesn’t sound like your exact problem but it’s something nobody else has suggested. Figured I would throw it out there. I have the X-curve. Good luck!

Yea, I actually had to order a smaller belt size as the original large was maxed out and still sliding down on me. Pretty frustrating honestly because I literally went to their booth at the SCI to have them help me get fitted properly.
