OCL had a .9oz 1/2-28 DT hub adapter for sale last night for $30….maybe a “better” (lesser) use of money.Maybe not a great use of money, but I saved 0.7 oz by switching the steel direct thread to the Ti adapter from DD ($55). Also then it's Ti on Ti, less chance of galling.
Yep, but I need a 5/8-24 for my uses for this can, and it looks like those are $85 everywhere.OCL had a .9oz 1/2-28 DT hub adapter for sale last night for $30….maybe a “better” (lesser) use of money.
Except the barrel is steel so the constant on off is ti vs steel... That's what's kept me from doing it.Maybe not a great use of money, but I saved 0.7 oz by switching the steel direct thread to the Ti adapter from DD ($55). Also then it's Ti on Ti, less chance of galling.
That's fair, galling might be worse then. I'll put a bit of copper anti-sieze on the barrel threads.Except the barrel is steel so the constant on off is ti vs steel... That's what's kept me from doing it.
That said, I did mess the threads up on a rifle once from a steel adapter so in that case, maybe a ti adapter would have saved me a cut and re thread fee.

Copper antisieze does not play well with stainless. That's fair, galling might be worse then. I'll put a bit of copper anti-sieze on the barrel threads.
Iosso triple action oil or boretech friction gaurd is all ya need a little of on threads. I take my cans off every time after i shoot, clean barrel/action spin it back on.Copper antisieze does not play well with stainless.
Did not know that, thanks.Copper antisieze does not play well with stainless.
