Dead Air Nomad Ti XC

Mine sounds great but blew up the groups on 2 rifles:

- 16” tikka T3x 8 twist: I’ve tried 69 and 77 TMKs and SMKs with 8208 XBR, IMR4895, TAC, and CFE223, and factory Black Hills 75 HP Match. Best was 1.3” 10-round groups with an anemic 24 grain load of IMR4895 and 69TMK. 8208XBR and 77TMKs were over 2” with 23.0-23.5 gr 8208XBR. Everything else was 1.5” or worse. Rifle shoots inch or better with multiple loads unsuppressed.

- 20” AR (Faxon fluted hbar) in 6 ARC with factory Hornady 108s were 2.5” suppressed, 1.2ish unsuppressed

- 20” AR 5.56 with Luth-AR 9 twist HBAR shot 69 SMKs with CFE223 in under an inch with the nomad ti xc

- 18” AR in 6 Creedmoor with 7 twist Rainier barrel shot right under an inch with factory hornady 108 ELDM with the nomad ti xc.

I burned a boatload of powder trying to get that tikka to shoot well suppressed. I thought for sure the 77TMK 8208 XBR combo would be the answer. I guess I’ll have to either buy it a different suppressor or different barrel.

Ouch. I haven't shot mine yet, hope it doesn't give me issues like that. I wonder if the mount system would make a difference, going to brake mount rather than DT or vice versa. If you know somebody who'll let you shoot with other suppressors that could help prevent wasting money and buying another that doesn't work.

I wonder if it could be the thread job/shoulder on the one that won't shoot

I shot mine on two tikkas. A 308 and 6.5 creedmoor. A different point of impact obviously, but groups were both great.

The ti xc i received shoots small groups, direct thread, it did move my impact maybe 3-4” cant remember, it will live on one rifle…i take it off after every session to clean barrel and it shoots same after re installing. Liked it enough to order a lti xc to try on magnum. Hopefully you can find similar results, good luck…

Lucky sons a bitches.......mine take two months minimum. You'd think after a guys been approved for 7 suppressors in the last 18 months, you'd just let him have em.....nope you will wait minimum of 60 days.

That's probably why they're holding them, you've gotta be on multiple lists at that rate lol. My first one took 9 months, got one last week that the Form 3 took 2 wks and the Form 4 approved in 48hrs with a trust, I thought they F'd up calling me.

I have heard a lot has to do with the commonness or individuality of a person’s name? I.E John Smith takes longer to get approved than Craven Moorehead, etc…, no idea if that’s actually true but it was interesting.

Also if there's any criminal record at all based on class of misdemeanor. There's only 1 other person in the country with my name that I know of and that is likely the only other one. My can took 2.5 months last summer and I think it was because I have a traffic violation in Illinois that counted as a class A(?) misdemeanor. It went through pretty quickly after I got my state rep involved in sending the FBI an inquiry

We got to the range this morning to sight in the guns. Once re-sighted both guns shot well. First off, man they are quiet. One of the guys shooting came over and wanted to know what guns and cans we were using. He couldn't believe how quiet they were.

I'd say accuracy is improved, meaning my pencil thin barrels weren't throwing fliers nearly as soon as it usually does.

But the best thing is the recoil, or lack of it. So easy to stay on your target for that second shot.

I was not thrilled about adding any more weight to my gun. I'm over it. Every additional ounce was worth it.

Weather permitting, we will take it out to 300 yards or so tomorrow.

100 yard result, after taking a few shots to re-sight the gun. No real attempt to let my barrel cool. I usually can't get away with more than three shots before I get more drift than what you see here. Reloads are shooting fairly well. We are certainly not sharp shooters, but these guns will hunt.

Wife's 6.5cm after sighting in.
