I don't know of anyone who makes an exact replica, but I know a bunch of guys here(myself included) would be happy to work on something for you. Including using many modern steel options.Does anyone make an exact copy of the Grohman #2 Bird and Trout in modern steel like S30v.
If you end up making one up please post up some pictures. It's sort of on my list to have as well.I don't know of anyone who makes an exact replica, but I know a bunch of guys here(myself included) would be happy to work on something for you. Including using many modern steel options.
LS Wild has their mass produced unit finalized and up for sale other than that peruse the forum and contact the maker you like. I didn't want exactly what LS Wild was doing so I had Dixie do one for me with the blade dimensions I wanted. So do we have like a final design nailed down that guys are routinely buying? Are we just PMing makers on this thread for options/prices/lead times? @Dixie

Put the new CBK from @Dixie to work the other week on a whitetail doe. Gutted and caped with it. It was super easy with a smallJust got this custom CBK from @Dixie
It feels great in the hand and should be my next go to game knife. It has all the tweaks to what I wanted improved from the Jackstone. The MKC is being promptly sold View attachment 837362
Still using the knife my grandfather used... good luck passing a Chinese replaceable blade knife on,.but disposal is the new logic.I really like custom knives, but replaceable blades are pretty easy.

Agreed. I've come to think that the Grohmann blade shape is pretty close to ideal, but the handles are too small, for my hands anyway, and my hands aren't particularly giant or anything.@SDHNTR sent me over these grohmann knives to get a little custom going. Although I appreciate the classic/nostalgic CBK shape I have always found the handle design inferior to mine. Of course I am biased. I don’t find it uncomfortable necessarily, just sort of awkward. Love the handle/blade relationship though. Here it is next to mine.

I imagine it’s too early to tell but do you think this will be your go to pattern going forward?Ok guys here’s that pattern I’ve been working on with @SDHNTR. I’m really happy with it. It’s pretty close to my pattern just an overall slimmer package, increased finger clearance/choil area. The segmented scale one is for @Netherman.

I like the slimmer blade and the overall shape of it with the higher tip. That shape maximizes the slicey-ness. The think blade stock will also make this quite the cutter. I also like that you’ve kept some thickness in the handle in the area right behind the blade. Some of these CBKs get really small in that area and I like a little beef there.Ok guys here’s that pattern I’ve been working on with @SDHNTR. I’m really happy with it.
