My wife in 31 years of marriage has never said don’t go hunting or fishing until a month before elk season this year.

We live in NJ and drove the 2000 miles last year each way. When I mentioned a couple things I needed to get that we didn’t have last year. She told me firmly it wasn’t happening this year. She talked more so because last year our trip was cut 5 days short because my son got altitude sickness and what if we ended up in a hospital they may have a lot of beds used and where we were going she looked up before she told me this it turns out only has 6 icu beds. She wasn’t worried about us getting it before we went but if we got it there the logistics and expense would be astronomical possibly being in the hospital more than half way accross the country.

I knew this was the first argument she won without me even arguing back because like I said she has never kept me from going before.

Maybe these hunters were one of the outbreaks they are referring to. Sounds factual to me.

Also, after re-reading the article, their guide service is unregistered with the State of CO and based out of Texas?

There are way more unreported cases. Something like 4% of people have it at any given time. There are literally hundreds if not thousands of folks running around hunting with it, most without any symptoms.

I'm pretty sure I already had Covid at some point this year, because my lungs were absolutely not normal this year during hunting season......they're still not. But as usual I just keep pushing through hindrances when they appear, and keep pushing on.

So a hunter gets COVID from any number of ordinary places (e.g., airplane traveling to hunting destination, grocery store, work, church, spouse, etc.) and passes it to his hunting partner and all of sudden we have an "outbreak" on our hands that requires governmental intervention? That overly broad definition and the government's unwillingness to disclose the numbers tells reasonable people exactly how little we should care...now, for the fun police in their echo chambers, this is just more evidence that we all need to be on lock down.

And here i enjoyed elk camp in the back country because for 2 weeks, there was not a single news article i could read, FB post i could see or single conversation with the guys from 5 different states with the word COVID mentioned. Keep this out of my happy place!

Its a game of survival; food, shelter, water, out smart prey. It's funny that when we get out of the main stream media sh*t line, how much nothing matters and is not an issue...aka 'rona is not a big deal at all 99% of the time...i will take my chances (oh yeah i had it and still did my typical mountain training this year)
