You’re driving down a dirt road in Colorado in April. You look out in the snow covered sage and there’s a nice brown 6 point sticking up, 20 yards off the dirt road.

A. Keep driving, it’s not May 1
B. Grab that bastard before someone else does!
C. Go bury it in the snow and come back may 1.

I mean the regs are there to protect the animals, assuming there are no animals around to disturb, it would be hard not to bury it and come back.... If there were elk around, I keep driving...
How do the regs read in that regard? Is it illegal to touch them or to keep them?
I'm never out that way during early spring, so not a decision I have to make. It does make me wonder how that is addressed in the regulations tho.

D. Keep driving and ponder the obsession with dropped antlers.
This.

How about another one. You’re packed in 5 miles, the day before season starts. It’s evening time and you’re glassing up a basin, making plans for opening morning. A BOAL walks out in front of you at 5 yards. What would you do?

I will LMAO when you get a ticket and fine over an antler.

Aside from that "dewd" with the dog chew business who can't stay out of the elk refuge, have there been any tickets lately?

In CO, I’m a NR. I’d wonder why I was in CO in April (pleasure or business?), and be very challenged on how to even get such a thing home on an airplane. Pass. Keep on driving.

Ill add a scenario to the mix, because it seems even more likely, and to not be a sting.
What if youre out turkey hunting april 29th, no elk or deer in sight, but its somewhat of a popular area and you stumble upon a nice set. Are you stashing them, leaving them be, or taking them then?

I haven't kept most of the antlers off animals I've killed, let alone antlers I've found. Easy pass.
