Whats the latest on the crossing corner to corner to access public land battle in MT? Last i heard the R's voted on party lines and defeated the last try to allow access. Thank. You. Ted Turner.....seriously hope that guys private butlers just molest his food before they serve him..

Spent some time with a retired warden last weekend. He said while illegal, FWP wardens wouldn't write a ticket for corner crossing. Doesn't mean the landowner wouldn't call the sheriff but the wardens seem to think it's pretty silly. Of course this is literal corner hopping, not crossing a big stretch of private land to reach public.

It's a big deal you can and will get a ticket. I got a ticket once couple years ago and went to court and sol lost. Lesson learned but it was costly. Some land owners have a good deal of pull be aware. It wasn't where I was but how I got there. In my case it was where our truck was parked. Guilty until proven innocent

Exactly. I don't see many wardens letting you off with this ever. Does anyone know what the fine and or punishment for it is these days?

How much was the ticket and fine? This has to be the DUMBEST thing I've ever seen. It's amazing how much land is "public" land and surrounded by private that can't be accessed. If somebody was smart they'd pass a law that required a 24 inch easement along one side of the private land BEFORE it was landlocked so guys could walk the fence line and get to the public. It should be accessible at least from one side.
