Coming out of the woodwork

We have more bear problems when they don't have the usual food sources. Is there still a lot of snow in the high country of Utah? Maybe they aren't able to graze on the alpine/avalanche chute grasses like usual.

In the fall here in Western MT you really have problems on poor berry years.

Last year Utah had a heavy and late snow pack. This year we had a very light snow pack and it was melted earlier than normal. I just spoke with the DWR and requested their current sightings information. Unfortunately they referred me to individual biologist and wouldn't give me a compilation of the sightings.

I can't help but think some of the bears learned from last year that the grass is greener lower on the mountain.
