Colt Canada, owned by CZ apparently helping the Canadian government destroy guns

A lawyer for the Canadian Coalition For Firearms Rights (CCFR) is reporting that Colt Canada has been contracted to destroy over 12,000 guns confiscated from businesses that have been banned.

But I also see the company trying to play the hand their dealt as best they can. I'm sure they're getting paid, so they can pay their employees and maybe make a little profit.

Why does a gun company have to be involved at all.? If its going to happen, just bring all the guns to one of those big metal shredding machines and dump them in - done! Those things will chew up engine blocks, LP tanks, gym sets.... - pretty much anything they throw in it.

What are they forcing you to give up? Semi autos? Damn once those are gone the U.S. really should invade and liberate our brothers to the north…. I remember when a bunch of Canucks were talking about how if the U.S. invaded they would meet armed citizen resistance… ugh not so much if the gov takes all of your arms. Man I’m sorry it’s a really bitter pill that you have been dealt, I still think the U.S. should take B.C. To Ontario and everything to the north…

I hear you, man. Is there a gun registry in Canada? Like in the past, if you sold a gun to a buddy, did you have to report that to some type of government office or was it more like here in America where you can buy and sell Person to person without any type of reporting?

Yes there is a registry and to the best of my knowledge you have to register a personal sale as well .
I mainly have fud guns and i need to provide a PAL just to purchase ammo .
Despite the many guns being banned the sks has so far been exempt due to the fact that the natives use it for hunting but some of the anti's are now squealing so we'll see .

A lot of semis are on the list. The main one is the AR, of which I have one that was registered so I will have to give it up at some point or be in possession of a prohibited weapon that the government knows about.

Only for "Restricted Firearms" - handguns, AR's etc.
The Registry for Non Restricted was abolished after running Billions over budget well over 210 years ago now.

The host of newly Prohibited firearms that were previously Non Restricted are untraceable (Minnie 14's and a host of others including shotguns & hunting rifles).

Unfortunately for me, a previous poster above, and a hell of a pile of others - they know exactly where, and who owns everything that was on the previous Restricted List. In that matter, turn them in (most will not see compensation, and if they do it is low-balled) or face criminal charges and a loss of all firearm privileges.

This was largely done by an Order In Council (OIC) wherein the government does not introduce the matter to Parliament, but simply signs said order, passes it off to the patsy Governor General, and walla- "law".

As a dual system could you bring those rifles to the U.S. and leave them here? Or sell them down here for fair market value? I’m sorry man, I’m more than half joking about the U.S. taking a portion of Canada, but it’s a beautiful place but it seems to be getting ran into the ground by politicians, much like my home state of Colorado…
