To be fair- the lake is owned by a ditch company and was leased to CPW, it was never truly "public".

That's unfortunate. I've been doing some work on that site and I had no idea they were planning to deny the public of the lake access. The course sits on another lake as well, in addition to a big pond that they built. They also dropped all the cottonwoods around the second smaller lake for some unknown reason, that seems mistaken to me.

They lake didn't look like it was much of a hunting spot but I have heard there are some good wipers in there.

Rob the public? This is the problem with society today. You give them something as a benefit that they didn't have before, and then they somehow believe it becomes a right.

"Colorado Parks and Wildlife operates primarily on user fees, with very little tax funding from the state. A recent bill to help boost the agency budget by increasing the price of park passes and hunting and fishing licenses was recently defeated in the Colorado Senate Finance Committee."

The people we elect are simply doing our bidding.

I edited my wording chief. There's not a lot of public access in this area and I value what there is.

As far as not having it before, the article says it's been leased for the public since the 1970s. So "before" is very relative. I would venture to guess that it's been publicly accessible for the majority of this audiences' lives.

Are you familiar with the site?

You seem to be the foremost internet expert around here. Which is pretty typical of anyone who is the leading poster on an internet forum. Are you retired or something
? You have plenty of time to stamp your approval on almost every thread.

Well, there you go.

And yes, I'm familiar with it, along with most the other water spots near Fort Collins and Loveland. And yes, I have plenty of time to post, and shoot, and test stuff, and travel, etc, etc. But let me know if you see my stamp of approval on any threads or posts, as I don't use the "like" button.

I also live with four women, my wife and three daughters. So the forums are my only daily interactions with any men for the most part. So ya......I post a lot. It's my escape from woman world.
