Colorado Preference point help

I am hoping I can get some advice from some experts out there. I am a Colorado resident and want to finally use my elk preference points, I have 26. I would like to hunt 201 muzzleloader and could use some help and advice on areas. I also heard this unit got hit really hard several years ago by winter kill and wanted to see if it was worth the points yet? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You're a resident with 26 points in the state you're asking about. You have 6 posts in over 4 years time. With that being said, I highly doubt you get any meaningful advice on this. Have you went and looked at the area in those 26 years? Have you called the biologist to inquire about the winter kill, and its worthiness of your points?

You might not draw with 26, last year there was 7 people put in with 25 points and no one drew and theres only 7 tags and one goes to random and with creep you never know.

OP, 4 years and five posts ago you were an Idaho resident asking about wolf hunting, no? You have to put in the time. I am a Colorado resident and if there was a shred of anything but cherry picking I'd offer advice.

I think you're looking at it wrong.

In my opinion his point isn't about the preference points. It's about six posts in 5 years and being resident of each state he's asked for advice about.

With respect to points, it takes what it takes and if the data says it took 32, 26 isn't going to get a tag next year most likely.

I think you read my post wrong.

Said another way, last year, 26 points would not get him a nonresident muzzy tag in 201.
