Cold Bore Challenge Q&A Thread

It’s not a matter of getting a target. It’s a matter of getting permission to set up a target at a specific distance, on a controlled range.
There are multiple ranges in NC and VA that go beyond 1K and have daily rates. Call them up and tell them what you want to do, worst they can do is say no. I’ve shot at all of these and I can almost guarantee you they have 10” steel.
VA
Pigg River Precision
Bang Steel Shooting School
NC
Colemans Creek
Griffin Group
Frontline Defense

Understand there may not be different divisions like the Bow Challenge rules state but any options similar to trad and compound to double the odds? Maybe small bore big bore/Centerfire and muzzy?
This would be a cool way for people with non-long range rifles to get an extra entry, open sighted rifles or open sighted muzzle loaders would be a cool addition. Quite a few members in the muzzleloader loader forum would probably enjoy this, maybe it could be another challenge later?

What about rimfire at 100yds minimum? Wind drift and drop have many similarities to center fire at 600yds. Would that be permissible to allow more to participate in the Cold Bore Challenge?

Limiting the playing field to 100? That changes things for me - my schedule doesn't allow the beginning of June.

Having the goodies limited to being drawn out of a hat of 100 folks, maybe 50 doing 600+ yds, so 1 in 150 chance for the goodies aint shabby.

Y'all have fun and good luck with the drawings!!!!
