Yes, they are going to a secondary draw next year that won't take any points. It is different than the current leftover draw in that it I'll include all the tags not paid for and turned back in before the draw. It will also include Antelope and Bear

How will that work with getting a second B tag? I use the leftovers as a way to pull extra antlerless tags to help fill the freezer and extend my season

Interesting. You might have a tag? I have never heard of them doing it that way but I don’t think there is a lot of training with the system. If you got something you should have a emailed receipt sometime today.

Just saw that they reversed the charge on my card, so at least I don't have to try and explain this to them.....

From the commission meeting notes, it is a secondary draw that anyone can enter for any of the tags so long as you haven't met that quota. No preference points required or used and it is purely random so you might be fighting multiple people. They are doing this to avoid the leftover day as was demonstrated today. After secondary draw, they will still do a leftover list, but all the good stuff will be gone.

I could see a second draw for tags not paid for and archery tags, basically today’s list but a draw. But the reissue tags wouldn’t work in a draw unless that’s done with or they are going to keep using the current system.

It will have to be all about timing with a secondary draw. Since tags have to be returned 30+ days before their season starts, there can be a heck of a lot of tags still after yesterday. ML's have until the 15th of August to turn in tags, and first rifle has until the 12th of September.......and on down the line for each season.

Leftovers vs. Reissues - Two different processes based on timing.

There may be some reissues in the new leftover draw, but after that they will land on the leftover list as they are released
