White House invokes defense production act to build solar panels?

Anyone want to deny that green is the new red?

2+2 = 4

Figures you would be bigoted towards other possible solutions. That one does not consider other peoples lived experiences and simply upholds the white male orthodox. 2+2 =11

Ah yes, I forgot the “other ways of knowing.”

The White House would be money ahead to invest in R&D at a military level for better battery design via materials engineering and electro-chemistry than to waste billions on something we know won't work.

But then again, we have bubba at the wheel...

It is really sad how the WH and even Germany are spinning the global petroleum shortage. Why work to better the lives of your citizens when you can work to avert climate change which *might* be a big problem in 20 years?

I smell some white guilt or hate for whitey!

Climate change. We shoulda been dead years ago if the folks pushing this crap were telling the truth.

Grab a geology book and read about the temperature fluctuations over the milennia. Then apply it to now. Reach your potential!

Whats that exactly? Like sasquatch?
Actually a very good comparison. I'm not sure if it was intentional but the OP original post is pretty spot on with the reference to 2+2=5. White male orthodox would be one of those terms that woke studies people think they are going to bring over to the hard sciences. Another one is helicopter science. These "intellectuals/academics" subscribing to these theories and lines of thinking have bodies of work and logical thinking on par with circus or birthday party clowns. Yet, somehow they have permeated every school, corporation, and government agency run by dems in like 2 years.

Anyone vote for me next election? Im not even going to go on the political circuit. All I will do is open the Keystone, open the leases back up and tariff the shit out of Chinese batteries. All be executive order if I have too.

China and Russia have control over the majority of the planets minerals at this point and shipping infrastructure. China will supply us the batteries for this new deal and then price us out of it or cut supply off. Russia will supply oil and NG to whoever wants it.

Im not a very smart person, but these experts and politicians might as well be rocks.

There is a pretty big distinction between the alarmists that are interested using climate change to further their politics and some of the actual scientists doing good work. Like most people, I can't stand the alarmist politicial pushers, but there are plenty of good scientists with good data sets to support the occurrence of climate change. I think some renewables can be part of the solution, but we are going way overboard right now it seems like.

I suggest Richard Alley to people who want to argue to occurrence of climate change. He can be a little alarmy at times but he did really good research on ice cores back in the day and has years worth of entertaining talks out there people can watch. He was a republican years ago, not sure of his politics more recently. The only reason I bring that up is that it was a notable distinction from a lot people in academia and especially the world of climate change research.

Agreed. Just like the Three plus years they told us the sitting President was colluding with Russia. No if’s, they told us to believe it.

I’m old enough to remember President Jimmy Carter coming on TV (all channels covered it) to worn the world about “global cooling” and how we needed to act NOW because of how cold the world was going to be in the year 2000.
You used to be able to find it and a Google search but I think they’re hiding it now. Anybody else remember that? I remember it scaring the hell of me it’s a kid

There are some real scientists and a bunch of political hacks who give the results they are told to give.

All depends on who we want to believe and to what extent. I'm a geologist and to an extent have studied what the earth did in history. There were periods of warming and cooling. Stuff like that.

I haven't researched a lot of the global conspiracy stuff. In my short half century we've been threatened with the end of the world 6-8 times. Ice age, deforestation, oceans flooding the country, ozone, sun exploding, global warming, climate change, carbon credits, and whatever else I'm forgetting. OAC said we had 12 years left to live. It's all been BS and this is too.

I look to see what the govt wants to do - this is all about money changing hands. They want us to all have electric cars yet China and a lot of other countries continue to spew toxics into the air, water, ground. So, we pay a "tax" to whatever countries and organizations while "no-one" else does anything.

The guy above has a good point - the russia collusion thing it was pure lies and the govt pushed it for 4 years to the point of trying to impeach an innocent man. The guy who essentially gave "300,000" military grade weapons to the terrorists wants to take away my 9mm and also defund the police while not punishing criminals. And I'm supposed to believe them about climate change and such? You can't make this stuff up.

Sure is a lot of money and politics involved. Absolutely no doubt about that. I have learned that those 2 things tend to attract a lot of honest , well intentioned people.

And from my experience geologists are some of the best looking people around.

I'm old enough to know better.
I've been hearing the climate alarmists spewing
their crap since the 70's.
And none of what they said was going to happen has
come to fruition. They're always saying we have
only 10 years left - for the past 40 years.
Just open the oil spigots and let's get on with our lives.

This ain’t an issue of climate change. When the head of the fed literally brings up green energy and the need to shift from petroleum to wind and solar, you know it’s NOT about solving an problem, it’s about power.

An example:

France is smaller than texas yet has 53 nuclear power plants. The vast majority of electric in France is from nuclear.

The US is 17x the size of france, has 5x the population and we only have 90 reactors.

When is the last time anyone worried about meltdowns in france?

Here’s an interesting graphic from BC

Do some fun math… to replace 1 hydro dam, it’s 30,000,000 square meters of solar panels. That’s 11 square miles.

Q: How many new reactors are we building in the US?

A: 2

See the scam?

We need to remove all of these whackjobs from our government before they put our nation back in the stone age. What's next........sundials for clocks? We can't do it on our own, "everyone" has to stop voting for morons, and those that want to do our nation harm. It seems pretty obvious, but a lot of folks still seem to struggle with this and keep voting these traitors into power.

Oh yes, I remember the FDR like fireside chats. Sitting there in his sweater looking the fool he was. Set your thermostats no higher than 68 degrees and lower overnight.
