Calling Idahoans! Hwy 95 closure

Just found out that highway 95 is Closed around riggins. My parents are rafting down there this week and we’re house sitting for them.

Does anyone have any inside information or a guess when the highway may open back up???

Apparently there was big rainstorm and a creek just north of riggins blew out the road and they have a 70 mile stretch of the highway closed.

that is THE main line line that connects n to south Idaho. doubt it will be closed long.

Stretch of Highway 95 near Riggins closed by slides


A 1-mile stretch of U.S. Highway 95 north of Riggins was closed Friday evening after multiple rock and mud slides, the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office announced.
The highway — the only direct route between northern Idaho and southern Idaho — was still closed between mileposts 200 and 201 at press time, and was expected to remain closed until this morning “or possibly longer,” the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post at 10:18 p.m. PDT Friday.

Between Race Creek Road and Lucile Road (2 to 6 miles north of the Riggins area). Expect single line traffic alternating directions. A pilot car is in operation. There's been a mudslide. Expect delays.

Comment: Milepost 199.5 to milepost 204, 2 to 6 miles north of the Riggins area.
