Feel bad for him. They couldn't get an alternate in time. Trust me, 13k is not a toy. Yes, my guides found him via buzzards. Any flatlanders think they can Pont up to 13k, full hunting pack? Already have my pack built and shaving weight. Then find a ram 3k below you, kill him, pack up the 3k again. Yes, you can die doing this hunt.

Been there done that.
Couple thousand people a year do it.
Kids in crocs with kelty back packs and uncrustables .
That hunt is so far from the most challenging in North America it isn’t even funny.
Your gonna drive to a trail head and walk a couple thousand vert to your guides camp then shoot his pre picked ram.
Other sheep hunts fly in, hike 10-12 miles to get to where they’re going to gain a couple thousand vertical. During the walk in your clomping through bog and willows while dodging aloha predators.

Approximately 30,000 people try to summit Mt. Whitney every year. Only 10,000 succeed. No doubt poor conditioning, and difficulty with altitude play a large role in the relatively high failure rate, but there are other factors to consider as well.

Lol, my dall and stone hunts were a joke vs. This hunt. Yes, I have guides, not blowing a oil tag on a diy hunt. How many on this site could climb to base camp@12,800. Then hunt??? 3%? Maybe? Whatever. When you draw the tag, become the expert. No desert ram is ever taken over the whites altitude anywhere.

So now you’ll have 3 joke sheep hunts. Bravo.
Maybe they’ll open bighorn hunts at the Denver zoo and you can round out your slam.

My dad had 2 slams. I doubt you will ever kill a ram. And if I want a bighorn, I can get one in Canada. Jealous? Here's my shitty room@ my wi. Cabin with 47 entered book animals.

It's such a popular thing for tourists to conquer that the managing agencies are trying to figure out reservation systems balanced with spur of the moment folks.
Show me a pic of a boy in crocs pulling a ram out over 12k feet, with a rifle and 7 days of supplies. Ha... funny shit.

Picked the right guide. He just booked 3/6 tags. Tuffest sheep hunt on the continent. Base camp@12,800. Still 12 feet of snow. I have complete confidence in this guy. Bought a new 6.5prc for this hunt. Training hard for this@65. 1 guy died last year doing this hunt.
It is spelled “toughest” not tuff which is a volcanic rock.

Surprised you are not using a PsE mach1 evolve? Too tough for a bow?

We try to have a positive attitude throughout this forum and help each other, you’re doing the opposite.
