Yeah. You are right.

A friend of mine and I asked one of the local game wardens about that situation with the antelope season and being up here in NW Montana (not an antelope within for 300 miles). He said he wouldn't sweat it nor make an issue of it. A cam up after elk/deer/bear season started though would be a different story though...

Not sure what triggered it. The MTFWP changed the regs a couple years ago. There was definitely some forest rage going on that prompted some threats of violence when people were beating up cams they found in the woods, or even when guys spotted other hunters in their spot on their cams. Not sure if it was a social management tactic, or whether the agency was actually worried about the game and the advantages hunters were getting. Either way, I definitely miss seeing some of the in-season pics people would share from around here.

It really is a silly rule (law). It states that cameras cannot be out during any commission adopted hunting season. So once spring bear and Turkey open that's it for spring and once antelope opens in mid August, that's it for fall. Pretty much only leaves part of may, June, July, and part of August....kinda short on time to do it legally.

I pull mine before the season just to keep other people from finding them. Other than that, I don't worry much about FWP....I hope they don't let to many bad guys get away while they are busting illegal scouting recon rings.

Heard 8 or 10 bugles opening morning here in MT during the hour before daylight. Nothing too wild but encouraging

Called in a bull to 25 yds with no bull tag in my pocket. Yesterday morning Sept.(7th) He came on a rope. First bugles we heard only at night on the 5th-6th. He brought 4 cows with him and I got busted by the lead cow trying to draw on her.. in Washington State.

I don't mean to bust any chops here, but I have a question. If an elk never bugled, and there was no such thing as an elk call. Could you still get an elk?

Hopefully, you won't say no.

The area ive been hunting, if they aint talking, you never know they're there. Thick nasty stuff. If they aint talking, tagging out just got a LOT tougher.

I heard a lot of bugling at night in Colorado around 10K, but nothing after the sun came up.

Did have a nice bull singing for awhile when it rained and a cold front came in during the evening up closer to 10.6K.

This was in Gunnison County.
