Bomb Proof set and forget scope for Tikka 6.5 creed

For a set it and forget it scope, Trijicon huron or NF SHV. Credo is good too but the throw lever is in the way for a bolt gun.

Depending on the model, you have different positions of the throw lever.

See the following spec sheet from Trijicon: CREDO Spec Sheet Link
3-9 credo is the one most folks are recommending for a set it and forget it scope—that model the throw lever is only “adjustable” with a hacksaw, and it’s VERY in the way on most bolt rifles. Its not a difficult thing to remove and touch up with some grit paper, but I imagine that would void any warranty, etc.

Another vote for swfa 3x9 - cheap shim kit and it pretty much zero stops. My only complaint is the zoom ring is stiff as a board but I’m sure a plastic throw lever would fix that, just haven’t gotten around to getting one.

Throw a ranger band on the zoom ring. Low profile, cheap, and super effective IMO.

I see you selected a good scope, so won't go on about that.

For calibers, in a OEM Tikka, I'd go 6.5 CM due to it being twisted and having plenty of mag length for the bullets savvy shooters want to run. Not saying anything bad about a 243s efficacy, but in OEM guise it's just not as optimal. If one is going the aftermarket barrel route, I'd go 6 CM instead of a fast twist .243. Ultimately, I can't see the 20-30 grn more bullet over the same propelent charge being a paradigm shifter in terms of recoil and shootability, but to each their own.

Alr contacted my local gun store and put one of the new Tikka T3X stainless lite 22” 6.5 creed threaded models on lay away. 799 out the door.

Alr have 1” Micro UM Tikka Rings

Any factory ammunition recommendations?

For rings I'd try the Sportsmatch TO48. I have the SM rings on several Tikka and they work well; they are a step up over the OEM Tikka rungs.

Hornady has been good for me.

I just ordered a variety pack so there oughta be something that works.

I don't run a lot of factory fodder in my 6.5 CM's, but Norma Bondstrike 143 and Hornady 143 and 147 have both given tight groups for me in a number of different guns.

140 eldm.

Can you dial the Credo 3-9 if you take off the turret cover like on the SHV?

You could dial it. It's just not the best style of turret to do it with.
