We have been doing some training. This will be Trekkers 2nd season. Hopefully there are a few birds that survived winter.

My good friend Pie turned 14 in February this year. Her wheels, eyes and ears are not so good these days...But the nose still works. We never know how long we have with our dear canine friends, yet we try to cherish every moment and hope that there are many more. I know have limited time with Pie and yet she continues to show her heart in moments like in these pictures...

Bought a started dog from a trainer in central California. He's about 11 months old right now and is doing well in training. I'll be going over the hill to work with him a couple more times and I'll bring him home in early September.

Luke is a very stylish dog, loves his work, really strong and powerful dog. He's doing great in training and will be able to do what I expect of him this season. By the time I pick him up he'll be steady, solid on doubles and will be handling on basic blind retrieves.

He's got a great disposition, took to my grandson like he's known him forever and put on quite the show when I went to evaluate him.

Should be a great hunting partner.

Thanks for bringing this back to the top. We only got out for a few trips after all the time spent chasing antlers this fall.
