Won a Rem 700 .270WSM a long time ago, and won the CA Statewide Fundraiser Antelope tag a few years back... killed an 86" net goat that is in the top 10 all time for CA.
I’ll start with saying I’ve been fairly lucky over the years. First big one was the Washington California bighorn sheep raffle back in 97. (3 tickets) Second big one was the Oregon bighorn sheep raffle in 98. (6 tickets). Those two set the stage for me buying tickets for every Sheep raffle I could find for the next 25 years. I hit another good one with a Dall sheep hunt in Alaska through the Washington FNAWS raffle. My wife bought me $200 worth for my birthday. Got lucky again in the Washington Shiris Moose raffle 10 years ago. Ended up killing a great 182 inch bull. Last but not least, I won the Montana WSF desert Sheep raffle with one ticket last year. Had a great hunt in Mexico killing a 166 Mexicana ram.
I won a 2022 Washington Rocky bighorn sheep tag in the WSF raffle on 5 tickets and was guided by @Starbailey and other great guys to a B&C ram. Watched his name called live for the Montana desert hunt drawing. Considering his list above, I'll be chasing his leftovers in raffles for years to come.
Few years back, through Rokslide, I learned of a local CA Deer Association Tule Elk hunt raffle. Bought one ticket for $100 and won the $16k hunt on a ranch in southern CA. Included was a ranch house to stay in, breakfast, a pig hunt, and the guide even let my wife tag along with us.
At the Sheep Show in January a few friends and I pooled our cash and bought some raffle tickets. Imagine my surprise when my name was called out over the speaker system in the convention center for the musk ox hunt with Canada North! As soon as the pictures were taken I limped my fat broken ankled body over to talk with Tony Mudd to see when the soonest opening was for me to go. Well it was last week and here is my awesome animal:
I’ve been to a LOT of remote North America in the last 30 years and nothing can compare to what I just experienced. Brutal and unforgiving is...
Prior to this it was a 95mm Swarovski BTX from the Rocky Mountain Bighorn Society.
Once I won a Coleman sleeping bag at a coyote derby, but, if I’m being honest with myself I think the first ticket holder wasn’t present so I was the runner up.
