.308 Henry Long Ranger good for Elk?

What do you want me to respond about in 52? About how pigs and elk are the same animal?
Can you post a list of the bullets you have tried in each caliber and if they gave you acceptable results or not?
I am dumb, so pictures help me understand what you have seen, so post them too please!

I am not comprehending this. Is there a state where guys can turn in elk tags for pig tags? Or are you saying people elect to hunt pigs during the time they have an active elk tag?
An example of an expected response would be,
308-
1. 150gr Remington core lokt-good results (insert photos if you have them)
2…..
3…..
223-
1. 55gr frontier fmj-unacceptable-hit one and it ran off
2…..
3….
And so on
Again, I am here to learn from your hundreds of kills on pigs. Please educate me (and anyone else who reads this).

You did post your answer as I was typing.

expect whatever you want you can either believe me or not. I don’t take pictures of every wound cavity every bullet I shoot every pig I’ve ever shot.

It’s really hard for me to get photos of the one that ran away after getting shot by a 223. 308 will blow the leg off and you can shoot them one more time as they’re running away

I don’t believe much without evidence. Photos are preferred but optional.
Gut pile from a tournament we were in. 22 hogs 17 armadillos 9 raccoons 6 skunks 17 opossums and a bobcat. Shot with anything from .22lr to 308. Tsx American whitetail Hornady custom

I wasn’t saying that I don’t believe you have killed hundreds of pigs, or that you have experienced the 308 kills better than the 223. I just want to know which bullets you have tried and believe to be acceptable and which ones you have shot from the 223 that you have deemed to give you unacceptable results.

Ok done work now so here we go
.22lr only used cci suppressed/standard velocity. Works about as expected. Have seen it drop a 270 pound hog before

.223/5.56
Fmj garbage
Greentip garbage
Hornady black no thanks

300blk
Hornady custom sst decent
Hornady black v-max meh
Subsonic anything garbage

6.5 Grendel
Hornady custom sst good

308
Hornady American whitetail interlock great
Barnes tsx great but to expensive for the low percentage shots on big groups

what I see that most hunters don’t experience is low percentage shots that are just trying to incapacitate an animal. If I hit a hip of a hog with a 223 i might slow it down and never find it but a 308 has the energy to blow that bone up when it hits. It can expel all that energy into the bone and blow it to bits.

Thank you! When you say green tips for the 223, are you referring to the green painted, light armor piercing rounds or something else?

Yep those.

Would you be willing to try these (specifically) in your 223 and report back how they do on pigs? I think you will see a vast difference from what you have seen before. A lot closer performance to your 308, without the recoil.

No and the performance won’t be anywhere close to. Half the weight and 70fps less. Do you understand the energy concept? I’m trying to blow legs and hips apart when I’m shooting at a big group. Energy is what gets released when the bullet hits that bone it’s why the 308 blows limbs apart.

What bullet do you think did this?

I understand what “they” say.
You should be open minded and try those once on pigs. To shut me up and prove me wrong.

I don’t need to prove anything. If “they” don’t believe me after giving circumstantial evidence then “they” are an idiot. That ammo is more money and not going to perform as well.
