Best raffle you ever won

Aside from a vortex scope, custom rod and reel package, a few public draws in Texas and a few guns here and there, won a fully guided desert sheep hunt and won a brand new boat this past July.

I got some pretty decent luck when it comes to drawing stuff.

I spent $100 on 3 tickets to win a custom rifle build from Griffin and Howe at a DSC event in Traverse City Michigan. I won. Came with a caliber of choice, defiance action, manners stock (I dropped it in a HNT26), proof barrel, hard case, spartan bipod, etc. The kit started at $6,750 if I wanted to go buy one. So basically won a $7k rifle off of $100 in raffle tickets.

I won an all exclusive elk hunt to Quinlan Ranch in Chama, NM in 2018 valued at 10K. We were at the Alleghany Sniper Challenge in Spring of 2018 and they gave everyone a chance to roll "snakes eyes" for the trip. There were about 60 people rolling the dice. Second time through the group I got lucky and won.

I am the guy that doesn’t draw a tag with 95% odds, I have never won anything

I was once one of the 8 of 208 applicants for an extra doe whitetail tag with a quota of 200. On the opposite end of the spectrum I drew a Nevada late rifle bull hunt this year with 4 points. Luck cuts both ways

I know this thread is a few months old, but in 2021, after not drawing any premium tags, I spent about $350 on raffle tickets and won a California Roosevelt elk tag on private land DIY. We befriended one of the ranchers we had permission to hunt on’s property and harvest a bull that broke the 400” mark. That is my only elk thus far and a hard one to beat. I hope everyone is enjoying their Easter.IMG_1658.jpeg

We won a $500 credit to a bar/restaurant in downtown Boise.

Blew it all with a bunch of family the night before my mom’s celebration of life.

Pretty good way to see it go.
