Like the title says. I absolutely hate mummy bags. I currently have a SG Chilkoot 0 degree bag.

I absolutely hate it. I'm the type of sleeper that has to have my legs stretched. The mummy bags just aren't for me.

I'd rather pack a little extra weight in a bigger bag than deal with this SG anymore.

Anyone else deal with this, and found a replacement back packing bag that is a little larger at the leg section?

Thanks for the response, I'll check those two out! I'd like to stick with a bag for now, I tried the quilt and wasn't a big fan.

Zenbivy is what you want. It is not a “quilt” as others are. It is the most comfortable sleep system on the market.

Im a side sleeper that needs room. I dont need a super warm bag so I went with the 20 degree terralite from western mountaineering. Only a few nights in it, but very happy so far. I think it will keep me warmer than the rating states

With a properly rated pad they are still one of the only true comfort rated bags we’ve tested.

Meaning you will be comfortable down to the stated temps with their bags not just “survive” a night in it.

I hate having my feet restricted in a mummy bag. That said, for years I used the Teton Trailhead 20F mummy bag. It was cheap and has a much wider foot-space than most (and it's comfortable down to maybe around 40F which covers most of what I'd face as a casual camper/hiker in the Pacific Northwest). My absolute favorite lightweight, non-mummy bag though is the Kelty Galactic Down 30.

For reference I’m 6’1” 250 with a 53 regular suit jacket size.

I’ve been very happy with my WM terralite. I had it overstuffed to a 15 degree rating and have used it for the better part of 15 years.

They now make a cloudlite that’s basically the same size as the terra but a 15.

I have a zenbivy lite setup but I went with a full sheet. Also went with the biggest size they have. It's hands down the best sleep ive ever had from a "bag". I don't think you'd be disappointed. Im 6'2" and 220lbs and have never felt cramped for space.
