Beginner fly rod

This is my latest adventure. I picked up a fly rod for bass fishing a couple of years ago but was never successful. As of the last week I have dived back into fly fishing partially because I have always wanted to learn but also because my son is getting to the age where he is starting to enjoy being outside more. I want to get him hooked on fishing a spinner and I can practice fly. With that being said my buddy recommend an Echo Carbon XL pole 4W-5W and a Lamson Remix reel. I am still doing research into lines and flys etc but was just curious what you guys think about that rod/reel
Not sure your sons age but since I see you are in NoCO look into Colorado Youth Outdoors. They have several good programs and summer camps that can get both your boy and you plenty of good knowledge on both spin and fly fishing. They have a great campus in SE FoCo that has amazing bass fishing.

I dont have experience with Echo rods but I have ran Lamson reels for a couple decades. Probably have 6 or 7 reels in my fleet of rods and never had an issue with them. Orvis makes some great beginner packages and has carbon reels that are indestructible if you have a younger angler that might not be as gentle on expensive fly fishing gear.
