Atlas coolers- Anyone get a shipping notice yet?

Has anyone seen Squatchboxx coolers? Ran across them on instagram yesterday. They're identical, even have the twisted tumblers

I am starting to fade. I want to wait and find out the coolers are great.

But part of me worries this could drag on too long.

I feel for GotDraw. He did a lot of work to put this together and is now "stuck in the middle". Deserves a ton of credit for all he has done so far. And continues to do. Clearly a solid guy willing to help others.

I suspect this all works out and everyone will get their coolers. And be very happy with them.

I am just not sure I am up for the wait. And let's be honest. What the hell am I going to do with three coolers adding up 190 quarts. Other than throw a damn fine frat party 20 years too late.

Hoping for some news next week or I am going to reluctantly pull out myself.

Only 190qts? My one big cooler is 200qt, and my small cooler is 120qt. They both go with me to elk camp every year.

So.......while your frat party sounds like a great idea (maybe during the off-season), I'd take the coolers elk hunting. But you may want to add another one for more space.;) BTW, at one of our frat parties 30 years ago we had 60 kegs on site, and another 60 on stand-by. And they were all empty by morning. Three coolers wouldn't have done much.

Oh man, it is even worse. I felt shame, so I went to look hoping it was more than 190. It turns out it is 185. :(

If it were for anything large, it'd be more for moose than elk. Although there is decent elk hunting up here in BC, it isn't in the cards for this year. Not that a moose would fit in these either.

Although the idea was more so deer and bear. Boned out and hiked out, put on ice, head back in hopes of the other guy or guys getting one as well. However, many more days that may take.

I am bad at cooler shopping. And bad at frat partying. Having never gone to university my inexperience is really showing. ;-)

Thankfully I am bad at hunting too, so odds are I'd rarely have to worry about having enough space for meat. ;-)

I thought about the big guys, but got the idea from others boned out what I ordered should work. I knew it'd be tight, relative to the big ol coffin size.

Now I feel I should really cancel my order, and start over with the right size. ;-)

This might interest some of you. I was just toying around with the Atlas site and decided to add some coolers to my cart to see if it said anything about shipping dates. I didn't list anything new about the dates but it did notify me of thier current inventory levels for each cooler. Right now they are at -36 115 Qt, -47 65 Qt, and -84 80Qt coolers. One might assume that you are seeing the numbers from the group buy. I only checked these 3 models but anyone with more interest or time could check out all the rest. If these figures do represent our group by figures you can easily determine that we spent over $28,000 on just these three models alone. Sure there could be orders from others included but I'm guessing that they'd be a fraction of what our order ended up being.

This brings me to another thought. I'm a little curious whether or not there could be some sellers remorse going on. Regardless of how these get shipped they will not be cheap to send out. I priced UPS ground with my heavily discounted account and the price came back at $34 for ground (115qt). That would be right in line thier normal $37 shipping charge. The 80Qt and 65Qt are obviously a little less but still come back in the high 20s or low 30s. If most of us did put in orders that took advantage of the free shipping this guy could be seeing a lot of his profits going out the door just getting the orders out. Do the math with the numbers above. Anyway you look at it you'll see thousands of dollars of shipping costs. When GotDraw? mentioned that no future group buy would have free shipping it's pretty clear why. I'm suprised and thankful that Atlas didn't think to limit the free shipping to the first 20 orders or something similar.

Yeah. I thought the same thing. Look on alibaba and see around what he is getting them for. He's still making a good chunk of change.

Cancelled my order Sunday night and the refund is back on my card. So they seem to be doing things on the up and up.

I have a sneaking suspicion I am going to regret it, but I have my eye on an Engel now. One cooler instead of three. Which hurts as a gear slut and hoarder.

I hope everything works out for you all and thanks again GotDraw For setting this up.

I did the same canceled my order on sunday, because unfortunately even if they do get around to shipping, they won't be here before my trip. But just as an FYI to a y other guys in same boat amazon was having a sweet deal on pelican coolers, got a 150qt for about 400 and it said it wouldn't be here for 2weeks...... it got here in 2 days.......now thats good customer service. Not sure if sale is still going but worth a check.

ATLAS COOLER UPDATE:

GOOD NEWS-- ROKSLIDE GROUP BUY ATLAS COOLERS HAVE CLEARED CUSTOMS

I spoke with the owner today. The lack of communication recently was due to the fact that apparently someone in Cuba felt the best way to repay his mission work there was to ummm... permanently borrow his cell phone.

Now that the container has cleared customs, it goes to trucking company to transfer to rail. This may take a several days to a week +/-. Once on the rail, about 4 biz days to Houston, then immediately to Atlas, then shipments go out.

I will advise as soon I have more to report.

Also, if anyone does want to cancel their order, they may do so via Atlas site.

Best,

JL
