Randy, how did you like the tent after all the use? I’m very interested in getting one of these.

I like it alot. It's been very sturdy, easy as heck to set up, lightweight and very compact. It does need a half nest though.....
Then it would be perfect.

Can anyone with the Rincon comment on how well someone a bit over 6ft would fit in the tent? I am 6'4" and have a dcf Locus Gear Hapi Grande that is 120" long and I do not have a lot of head and foot room to keep from rubbing against the tent walls if they are wet, especially if I am using an inner net inside. Sleeping in the middle (using a two pole setup) is not a problem but sleeping on one side of the center pole can make a tight fit. The rincon is a little wider than the Hapi though, so that might help.

6’4” would be tight with the nest. Without you would probably be fine im 6,2” and spent 5 nights in some really brutal weather with the nest in it and it was a little tight but tent held up awesome in high winds hail and rain. Sitting up in it is also tricky being on the taller side. Overall really happy with the purchase

I believe I heard they are not made in the US, but I could be wrong.

Felt a little weird to me that they ran Seek outside for so long then started their own versions.
But they do look like solid tents and I like the trekking pole ideas he's come up with.

Not long at all. I’ve only used mine a couple times but the process goes: plop it down, stake the four corners, insert pole, finish staking, make any adjustments, and / or add guylines

This has taken me five minutes max, even with my 5 & 2 year olds trying to help out.

I got back from hunt. I had this tent on a Mt. Goat trip in SE Alaska, we had some heavy rain and high winds. The tent never came down. I used it floorless. I had some zipper leaks, but this could have been I missed spots on the sealing under the zipper flap (door and stove jack).

This type of hunt might not be the best place for this tent, but it did ok for the six days. I will say it's very light, but with that comes areas of concern in, it very fragile on the bottom skirt. First night of wind put a small rock rub on the tent, next night it tore out as you can see in the picture.

That was my trip, no goats, lots of weather.

I had my 4P Absaroka tear on the bottom as well, same kind of scenario, bit wind storm. The fabris is ultra light but that comes with some draw backs. I had a seamstress sew a patch over the tear and am running it that way.

I had the mountainsmith for a few seasons. I hated it. A lot! It never pitched right. I do not have this issue with the Rincon. And obviously the space is so much better with the Argali.

Space to weight ratio is hard to beat with the argali. I’ve been running mine with a Sea to Summit bug net for solo use before the half insert came out.

For those who have used with a stove, how do you feel about the space for 1 person, stove, plus all of your gear? I'm wondering if the space feels adequate when you need to dry out gear in cold/wet weather?

I'm looking to buy my first hot tent for solo trips, but want to make sure this will be big enough. The other options on my list are the SO Guardian, Argali Absaroka, and SO Cimarron. The larger tents are probably a bit overkill for 1 person, so I'm trying to find the right balance of size/space to extra packed weight. If the Rincon doesn't get too cramped with a stove and all your cold weather gear then it would be the winner for sure. Thanks for any input.

My two cents on that is it depends on how much space you want. There is definitely enough room for you and your winter gear and a stove, but I wouldn't call it luxurious if you had gear hanging everywhere. If you really want more space late season the Absaroka is a good option and it feels very luxurious especially with a big wood pile. For longer, snowy and cold trips I like the extra space. It's really just a weight/comfort ratio to figure out what works for you. Hopefully people other than me have opinions for you as well.

Well, I have no experience with the guardian. That being said, I like the style of the Rincon better especially with just one pole for setting it up and I think it would be better in the wind. I think they are fairly close in weight.
And for me personally, I would rather support Brad/Argali than SO.

P.s.....I currently have both the Rincon 2p and the Owyhee 1p, both with nests. I use the 2p if I take my dog or need the stove. I can take the pooch with the Owyhee but it's a bit crowded although doable.

No issues as of yet with durability.
I did replace the tent stakes with msr groundhogs as the ones that come with it are easy to bend.

I was in need of a new tent and figured I’d give the rincon a go thanks to this thread. Debated between it and the owyhee quite a bit and figured for the minimal weight penalty I’d try the rincon in case I ever needed the extra space. Got it seam sealed today and looking fwd to using it next month while rifle deer hunting. Hopefully it’ll last long enough for the little man to spend some nights with me in the future.
