I couldn’t wait for the Argali half nest so I found one that works well. I’ll still be buying the Argali 2P nest and their half nest once it comes out but for the time being this one seems to work well!

Hey guys guess who has both of them ! Haha my tipi should be here today. I have the xmid and used it on a spike Hunt in Montana. I think it’s an awesome shelter just really wanna try the floorless. Once I get time I will set both up and take some photos for reference side by side. I’m liking the fact that you can take the stove jack on and off and I think this one is going to come with me to Wyoming in September.
Did you ever get the chance to do a comparison of the Xmid and the Rincon?

Have had mine out a few weekends scouting now... really like it so far. Very happy to have the full nest, bugs are crazy this year in WY. Have not had any major rain or wind to deal with yet, so can't comment on that, but overall i like the size for a 1 man and plenty of gear. I do a mixture of backpacking and taking my horses, so this system works great being lightweight for both.

I still need to work on my pitching and get that dialed in, haven't got a perfect tight pitch really, but also haven't needed it to be yet. My only concern will be in hard rocky ground where getting a solid stake in the ground will be a challenge. My old copper spur free standing might be the ticket for those areas still.

Nonetheless very impressed with the quality, size and ease of use. And by far my favorite part is the amount of space i have along with having a full nest to keep bugs out this time of year.

In my opinion the rincon would have more area for gear. I am torn on which one I will be using for spiking in Wyoming so I’ll probably bring both and make a game day decision. I love having the adjustable pole and being able to leave the shelter set up compared to having to pull my trekking poles for the day

That's great to see them side by side. TarpTent makes some pretty light adjustable poles that are supposed to work well with the Xmid. I think two weight the same as the one Argali. Thanks for taking the pics and will be curious to hear your opinion after field use!

This is correct. I use the tarp tent poles in my x-mid. I believe the tarp tent poles were 8ish oz for the pair.
