Which one? I like both, reviews and specs are good. First time back country camping for me, early September in New Mexico, archery hunt.
I like the stove option in the Rincon, with a half insert for future use here in Pa.

The Rincon/insert would give you the flexibility to run a stove, but the Copper Spur gives you a freestanding tent.

I'd lean towards the Rincon just for the flexbility of running an insert and/or stove.

Thank you!

I have both and I used to have the Argali Owyhee. I hunt the southern mtns with hopes of going west one day.

I started in a copper spur. I liked that it was light and free standing. It was so nice 2 falls ago when it was pouring rain. I wanted something lighter so I went to the Owyhee.

I ran Owyhee last year. When I hunted last fall, it was cold for the south and it was actually dry. I ran it without the insert. I found the vestibule just wasn’t big enough for my crap in the winter. I wanted to have room to cook too.

I sold the Owyhee and bought the Rincon with a full nest to take someone else like one of my kids. Then I bought the half nest. I’m going to run the half nest by myself this fall. I should have bought it first instead of the Owyhee. It has the room to sleep, cover my crap, and cook. I also get the stove option for later.

I do think the Rincon with the half nest is going to work well. I like that the vestibule is next to your nest door instead of split on either side like the Owyhee.

I do want to keep my copper spur just in case I need a freestanding option. It also has the option of running just the bug net when it’s summertime hot and Dry.

Thanks for the feedback! I’m leaning more towards the Argali, like the idea of adding a stove, cooking inside , full insert, or a half.

Here’s something else to consider. As I said I’m in the south and bugs sucks. Mosquitos are ridiculous. You can run the Rincon 2p Nest or the Half Nest with an extra tie down from the top loop. You can stick the Argali stakes through the metal clips and then pull them tight. If I were Argali, I’d do pictures and talk about running just the nests as options where bugs are a concern and it’s dry. Seems like it would be more comfortable than a bivy. The Rincon 2P Nest is 4 stakes. Super easy and quick.

I am going to run only the Half nest on a solo scouting trip if there is no rain. I’m definitely going to run the half nest and maybe the tent for fall bear hunting if it’s dry too.

2nd this. The versatility the Rincon provides makes it a winner for me. Insert and non-insert capabilities plus its lighter and easier to pack.
