Are you more likely to score out of state archery tags for elk than general gun tags?

there's no clear cut answer, it varies by state. Spending the 30 minutes to watch Randy Newberg's hunt value video would be a good time investment for you, he does a good job covering tag availability.

Depends on the state, but, i'll say archery hunting has exploded in popularity.... so while it used to be easier ... now i'd agree with the above post, there is no clear cut answer

It can even differ for units within a state. In CO there are units that are OTC for archery but draw for rifle, and then others that are OTC for rifle but draw for archery.

And units that take 12 points to draw an archery tag and half that 12 days later for 1st rifle… lots of variables
