Anyone here in the Laundromat Business?

The one I use to wash/dry my horse blankets is all digital and real easy to use. Its well kept with modern machines of all sizes and some are large enough to do at least 5x as much as a home washer or dryer. My brother uses it weekly to wash and dry his work clothing. I would say there is about 40 machines in there. I think my brother told me the brand new 2 huge dryers and 2 huge washers were like 10K each.

I’ve been utilizing a local laundromat for a couple months while we were waiting on permits for a septic hookup. They had brand new LG machines and for our family of 3 i would spend about $25-$30 a week. They used an app called pay range and it made everything digital.

I could see where this would be a good side gig for someone. I definitely would go all digital to cut down on the temptation of someone skimming off the top.

Our local one, last I was there, had signs up asking people not to put animal hides in the dryers. Made mr laugh because I knew why people would. But I never realized it was done at a vol

The big 80 lb'ers are up to $20k+ a piece, it's pretty crazy. As long as they keep spinning they should last 15 years.

Great info, how did you like using Pay Range? A competitor in our area uses it but I've heard mixed reviews.

Downside to paying with credit cards vs cash are the fees the processors take off the top.

I liked it better than the quarters. The fee is more if you use the kiosk at the facility and don’t create an account. They basically rob you if you don’t download the app.

Everything is inherently more expensive because of the system and costs associated with it so it gets covered one way or another, price per load primarily. According to the sales people it pays for itself relatively quickly. Time will tell.
