UM/S2H/Suppressors/Scopes and More!

@Shoot2Hunt

Can you guys do a podcast explaining how it's going to work with the new tax stamp situation? I'm sure you guys have to do some digging to make sure you have your info correct but I'm looking forward to hearing how it will work and when these changes will officially go in to effect. I caught the recent one you did where you talked about if it passed but now that it's official and signed I'd like to see what exactly you guys will be doing.
It’s my understanding that the Hearing Protection Act was struck and wasn’t in the bill that Trump signed. Been trying to confirm, hope I’m wrong.

The HPA was struck, but the tax stamp cost was reduced to $0. So just the paperwork nonsense, but no extra fee. However, at least one or two organizations are lined up to launch lawsuits when the bill goes into effect, to remove suppressors and SBRs from the NFA. The only reason they could be in the NFA in the past was because they had the power to tax. Well, now that the BBB has passed and stamps are being reduced to $0, $0 isn’t a tax, so that process doesn’t have anything to stand on now.

I was just wondering if it fit. My barrel is at UM getting cut and threaded so I couldn’t measure it.
Apologies, may have gotten confused on the term “sporter”. I have the Lite barrel, which will definitely work. If you mean the actual Tikka Sporter rifle, it’s roughly 0.860” at the muzzle on a 24” barrel so no it wouldn’t work, it would need the OG-L. There’s also another contour slightly thicker than the Lite (think the Roughtech/Vail/Alpine have that) if that’s what you mean. Which one do you have?

Just the standard t3x lite rifle. I had UM install an Ace barrel which they call “tikka sporter” which is ment to be the same profile as the standard tikka lite barrel or very close to it.

At first I thought I needed an OG-L because why not get a can that fits all my guns? After looking at the weight of 15 oz, I see no real reason to try it out. There are plenty of other suppressors out there that are less expensive and weigh less. Some of them only add 2-3" onto the barrel length vs. OG-L, but save 5oz.

After comparing my Scythe and OG on balance point, there is very little difference. I'm excited to test them SxS and hope the OG compares on performance.

I’m kind of in the same boat. I have a harvester evo that’s lighter and only 6” long. I have no doubt that it’s louder than the OG-L but i don’t think the return on investment for $1100 would be worth it. Might just get another diligent defense enticer S for half the price and still less weight… or get the STI for $750 and it’s sub 10 oz.

I was thinking the same thing, but my application is for an 18” 7prc with a custom sendero light proof barrel. I’m trying to maximize the recoil reduction, so an OG L with a brake would be legit.

I’m also just addicted to buying suppressors. The 2 OGs will make it 10.

I’d really like to know how the og compares on say a 20 in 6.5 or 7 prc with others. I see form has shot them a fair bit but wondering if it would compare to say a scythe or ultra 7 in reduction?

it will be louder than either of those in my experience.

I don’t have a raw number with a 6.5 or 7 PRC, but the manufacturer’s published dBA with .308 are:

Scythe Ti - 128.4
TBAC ultra 7 .30 - 130.34
US/UM OG - 133

I would not use the Scythe at all with a 7 PRC and a 20” barrel.

The OG should be “noticeably louder” than the Ultra 7, but both should be comfortably hearing safe by OSHA standards.
