I've posted around here in a couple of threads about the Alibaba cap that I bought and took delivery on today. From what I could figure out on the internet, based on what other people have said (take it with a grain of salt), the company that I bought from also makes the Smart Cap product. Who knows for sure. There's a whole mess of these caps on Alibaba and AliExpress. Here's the link to the one that I bought:

They seemed well reviewed (if you believe those too) and I figured if there was an issue I'd just dispute it with my credit card company. I ordered the cap with all glass side doors on Nov 10 for ~$1770. Looking back, they weren't all that far off from their estimated delivery date. I had been on the search for a used cap for awhile but couldn't find one. I have one of those hard roll up tonneaus and I hate its guts. Seems to leak, freezes shut and cant roll it up and you only get half the storage compared to a cap. This cap fit the bill and was less than half of a new fiberglass cap and obviously way cheaper than the companies slinging the same type of product for $+4k.

Ordering was really smooth. Sent an inquiry and the person got back to me pretty quick (profile pic is cute Asian girl, probably big sumo guy behind keyboard). Told them my truck year, make, model, etc and they sent back 3 or 4 videos of different models. Basically just tell them what you want and you get a quote. I repeated what I wanted and confirmed it again after the quote to make sure we were all clear. Sent CC payment via the app and started waiting. All communication with the seller was really good. Never waited more than 24 hrs for a response. A couple of times if I messaged them late enough (early for them) they would respond almost immediately.

I have it all unboxed but didn't take any pictures. Didn't really think of it...my wife says I'm not "modern" lol. I don't have any socials and never think that anybody else on earth cares about what I'm doing so I don't photo document any aspect of my life. Anyways, we've all seen boxes. I will say the packaging was VERY good. Arrived with no damage. Every piece was wrapped in plastic, had foam between pieces, thick cardboard box, box wrapped in plastic, banded and then crate built around it. There were 2 packages. One for the two roof pieces and the other crate had everything else. At work, I've bought stuff that has cost 10x what this cap cost, and this cap was packaged waaaaay better than some of those 6 figure gizmos.

I intend to put it on tomorrow. The caveat to this is, I'm basically incapable of asking for help. This realistically is at least a 2 person job to lift it onto the truck. Its not that heavy to be honest; the total weight of both crates was 251 lbs, which includes all of the wood, cardboard, foam, etc. It's just big. I think I have a plan, but need to think about it a bit more. Don't have time today anyhow, gotta get the kids here.

I'll follow up as I go and will take pics at some point. It will either get on the truck, fall off at least once, and/or I have to go to Urgent Care for something. Stay tuned.

Meant to add, really pleased with the quality. I don't feel like I didn't get what I paid for. Paint is good, glass looks good. Doesn't look or feel cheap in any way. Didn't fiddle with the locks or doors yet, didnt have a lot of room in the garage to do that.

Instructions seem easy enough to follow despite the bad english.
