Well we sit on the eve of the eve of one of the biggest days for hunters in Alaska as well as some non residents in the draw so I wanted to wish my fellow Alaskans the best of luck in the draw and provided you don't draw any of my permits I will be very happy for you...heheh
Good luck

Dave

I'm so anxious for the results I can't even stand it... Put in for Spring 2015 POW Black Bear, 17A Moose, and 23 Area 5 Moose. Fat chance of drawing the moose permits but one can hope. Almost criminal how the guides got them to split the NR tag allotment for 23 area 5 from 24 down to 12 so the other half can be guaranteed for guided hunters. What a crock, moose don't need a guide by law so how can they justify tags needing a guide?!

We kid that the day the drawing results are released is more exciting than Christmas :) I have had incredibly good karma the last few seasons (drew trophy sheep tags back to back) so it seems unlikely my luck will continue, but a girl can still dream! To be honest, I are excited whether I draw or not, as it means we can finally start finalizing our plans for the most wonderful time of the year (hunting season). Feel super blessed to live in a state where I can hunt so many animals with just an OTC harvest ticket....drawing results don't dictate whether I will hunt or not, just where :)

I'm with you on this one Becca. The only difference for me is that I've gotten a lump of coal the last couple years. Karma can be a real bitch sometimes. Oh well, I guess we always have registration Kodiak goats and Brooks Range sheep. Things could be worse, right? :)

I am excited. Set my iPhone to alert on new emails so that it will wake me up just in case they release them early like last year. I slept through the alerts last night my wife however...not so much.

Ha I probably won't need an alert set. I'll be up hitting refresh all night... Lol. I like that they did the email thing but it was much better not knowing they were going to do it...lol

I've been in the lump of coal boat since 2007 for a desired tag. 2007 was the first and only time I drew a sheep tag. Did get Kenai Caribou back in 2011. And that has been it for me with draw tags. Maybe this year a little light will shine through from ADFG! Good luck to all.

I've had the countdown going on my phone for months now. The day is almost here! I've held off on all other states apps until these results come out so I can structure my fall around an AK moose hunt accordingly.

Yeah last year I didn't know they were going to and the alert woke me up and I learned I didn't get anything at least an hour before my alarm was supposed to go off. Hoping this year I will finally draw something.

I wouldn't say impressed She asked what the emails were for and when I looked they were all ad emails, STP, gallery of guns, sports authority every hour or two starting at 1am lol.

I only put in for a couple goat tags here. I've got too much other crap going on this year to plan a hunt to the mainland, or waste a tag there, were I to draw one. Good luck to everyone.

Crossing my fingers also, good luck to my fellow Ak hunters!!!

I have only won one time, about thirty years ago I drew Feb moose tag in Talkeetna area, and killed the biggest bull, body wise that I have ever gotten. Hoofs the size
of a Clydesdale's!! It was way below zero, I think about -30, one .44 mag slug , 310 gr between the eyes. He was so old I think he was ready to go.

No horns of course, but he really was a freezer full of fantastic meat!! Not a bit of dirt on the meat, and we were able to slide the quarters out to the truck on tarps.
Easiest moose ever!!

I love that statement. Draw hunts are fun because it gives you a chance to hunt some place different. But for the most part I prefer general/registration hunts. It seems with draw hunts there is a lot of competition because people might not hunt that area otherwise, but since they have a draw tag they feel obligated to use it. My experience is that draw hunts are overcrowded. I prefer my good old general hunts for sheep and moose, and my favorite registration goat hunt, mostly because I have very few other hunters to deal with.
