1903 production Springfield 1898 30-40 Krag carbine handed down from Grandpa Sid but I've no idea how he acquired it. I've shot it a bit but never hunted with it.

Perhaps the revolver was handy when slaughtering livestock or a pocket piece when on duty as a rural constable. The 520 is in working order and while I have some 32 S&W rounds (new manufacture) haven't tried them in the old revolver yet.

1859 sharps 50-70 carbine. I believe was originally .62 smooth bore that was rebarreled to 50-70gov. After being refurbished it was issued to Indiana calvary, can't find where it was originally issued. View attachment 791594
Originally, they were used by both Union and Confederates Calvery during the Civil War. It was a 52-cal. paper cartridge rifled. Then after the war they were sent back to Sharps and converted to 50/70 copper cartridge case. Some got new stocks, some still had the old one with the patch box. You can look up the serial numbers and find one where its been to some point. I picked up one back in the 80's at a flea market for $500 sold a few years ago for around $2500. Mine had a new stock you could see the butt plate had the notch for the patch box. All the cartouches were clean, mine was refit in Bridgeport, CT. I also pick up some casings for reloads and shot it. You knew you were shooting something being so short and light.

My oldest shotgun is the one I use 6 mornings per week from Sept. thru December.
Then trap/skeet at least 100 targets per week.
Browning Citori (either 20 or 12 depending on the hunt) both bought used in the 1980s
and still going strong.
