I'm planning on backed-up flights this year for sure...at the very least in the hub village for me...and that's wx aside.
I go out of Bethel. Alaska Air used to run three daily flights from ANC to BET, but they've been reduced down to just one flight a day for at least a couple of months now. I always took the 6am flight out there and the evening flight back. That gave the whole day to get in/out of the field, get gear on the pallet to ship back, and catch the Alaska evening flight home. Not this year...that window is now greatly reduced.
Add wx delays, which are part of life up here, and the probability of back-ups and delays in camp are also extremely likely this year. I'm getting ready for it, and I encourage others to as well...at least those going out of BET.
