That's a decent group from a rifle Perry, pretty impressive for a pistol! Is there a way to carry the scoped pistol in a sling or harness?
Ya, these Freedom Arms guns are the pinnacle of accuracy.
I have a Wyoming Combination Holster that I had made years ago to pack my Scoped Ruger SuperBlackhawk Hunter. I've packed it on a few Sheep Hunts and Kodiak Deer/Goat hunt. It works for the FA also. Over the shoulder or around the waist. Works great. I have since made a flap for the top to keep debris out when busting brush.
Less then two weeks from takeoff. Got my Covid test ordered and ready to run up and get stuck in the nose. I have all the meat transporters, air cargo, and outfitters preprogrammed in the day phone. Have test them all and rec’d responses so I know they are correct and now.. going to go through the responses above and grab what my med kit is missing it needs. Here’s from ‘16... looking for the same! Or smaller.. or bigger.. just legal. My buddy gets first right of refusal on all bulls this trip since I’ve done this a couple times and this is his first hunt in ak..

Have 2 safe trips Doc, hope the rains this summer don't make either trip too interesting...A few days ago my daughter harvested the cow-permit that she drew, using the hand-loads that I made for her (one shot with 30-06, 180grn TSX...at 193yds!).
T-minus thirteen days and counting for me...and then two-weeks in the field!
Best wishes to everyone for safe and fun adventures this year.

I had to reschedule my pack-raft float this year. It's a bummer, but there are worse things in life. I'd be on the river right now, half-way through the hundred-mile float in fly fishing heaven. Just didn't seem like the right thing to do right now, but we are still a go for the moose hunt on the 11th.
That should reach out a good distance for you. A couple weeks ago I reloaded my standard fall recipe for many years up here...375H&H, 270grn TSX's. It has been a great performer with RL-15.
Moose rookie here. No prep pics to post. Not that tech savvy. Counting on my 30-06 to do the business. 180 grain Trophy Bonded Tips and H4350 for 2800fps in my 24 inch barrel. Most of my gear and food is already up there. Thanks to all of you for your helpful posts. I've borrowed ideas from many of you. Best wishes and good hunting to all.
Flying up there next week. First Alaskan adventure. Hoping to bag a moose, but am not willing to pack one real far. A good moose for me would be a legal bull in a good place. If so, I'll fire for effect. If not, I still hope to enjoy the trip and see some new country. A few fish and a show of the Northern Lights would be great, too.Good luck man! When do you head up there?

I greatly appreciate your attitude and approach...it's ALWAYS an adventure for sure! Take your time, get a feel for the area you are located, and if the wx is heavy rain with wind (as it may very well be) just keep reminding yourself that when this sh--ty wx breaks, the animals are going to pop because they are hungry and need to move. Best of luck to you guy!
Doc, glad to hear your daughter got that cow. There'll be no holding her back now.
I'm flying in on the 5th for a relaxing two weeks with little intent of shooting anything but hoping the young couple with me can fill a tag or two. I enjoy hearing the occasional wolf howl or watch a grizzly forage a berry patch. The area I'm hunting has a little show of gold "colors" so she's packed a gold pan also.
Rains continue on the north side of the Alaska Range so expect some of the rivers to be high.......maybe too high.
I'm hoping to hunt a few cranes and geese before leaving but the rains have prevented any barley harvest so the birds are flying over. Grouse populations are as close to zero as one can imagine.
