A Family Friend Is Missing In The McDowell Mountains Near Scottsdale AZ. I Don’t Have Any Social Media. Please Help Make Aware.

Hannah's body was located and upon initial inspection there is no evidence of foul play. My parents are with her parents now, once we know, and are allowed to share more facts, I can update on what happened.

This is just shocking as she is a very experienced hiker and trail navigator and in WELL above average fitness level. I've backpacked with her oldest brother on several occasions growing up and I know he and her parents instilled good outdoorsmanship in her.

She had her backpack which always has first aid supplies, security supplies, battery pack/phone charger, satellite phone, and her Dad mentioned she always carries a 3 liter water bladder.

We should have more details in the coming days. I really appreciate the texts and words here in this thread, and for those who came out to help search on a 105 degree day. Hannah was an incredible person from an amazing family.
I hate outcomes like this, such a bummer, so sad.

Prayers for her family

Prayers for the Holy Spirit to wrap his arms around that family in their time of grief.

Man this is awful. So hard for the human brain to comprehend or make sense but this is also were faith is tested. Prayers for the family and friends. Honestly pleasantly surprised to see so many prayers going out from this forum. Warms my heart!

I just read the article on FOX News online. So very sad. My condolences to all who knew her.

My condolences first and foremost, very sad news.

I couldn't help but focus on the bladder part - a sudden loss of 3 liters of water due to bladder failure could be fatal in those desert conditions. I never trust them for any serious hikes.

Sorry to hear.

Is there a cause of death yet?

I have to say, in the photo she looks underprepared for said +100°f AZ conditions. A good hat and sun protective clothing would be mandatory IMO.

@ozyclint - interesting post. That picture is likely description/appearance only for those looking for her.

Very sorry to hear this outcome. My heart and prayers go out to her loved ones.
