Picked up an 18” 9tw xbolt to use primarily on coyotes (maybe whitetail?) and was wondering what bullet folks would suggest.

I’ve got a pile of 77tmk but unsure if they will stabilize. Also considering the new 62gr eld-vt.

Berger 70 vld or the sierra 69 tmk have done good for me. Those will be about the heaviest you'll be able to stabilize with a 9 twist.

If you want a lighter bullet the hornady 53 vmax will work good

Thanks. Any suggestions on brass? Seems like slim pickings. Was planning on buying some factory Hornady and just saving the brass.

The 77gr TMK’s are worth trying- some 1-9” twist 223’s shoot them well. Otherwise, the 73gr ELD-M and 69gr TMK.

Hornady75 bthp will stabilize. I don't have experience with them on game, but they've shot well for me and might be worth a try.

I spoke with a rep at Hornady today that mentioned the 62gr eld-vt would be marginally stable and might not give consistent results in the 9tw due to the length being similar to their 75gr eld.
