22-250 / 22cm with TMK’s and ELDM’s

I've been shooting a factory tikka 22-250 with the 75 and 88 eldms recently and haven't had any issues, just lots of good groups and dead deer. Really like the rifle. 18" suppressed is a dream. Also fun to be able to shoot the 50 gr stuff at warp speed for cheap practice.

The factory ones have a 1/8" twist right? I have been thinking about the factory 22-250 with the 88's.

According to Euro Optic Tikka's still making both 1:8 and 1:14 22-250s, so you just need to be careful in making sure you're picking up the 1:8. I picked one up and waiting on some Lapua brass to work up some loads with the ELD-M 88s as my top pick. Hopefully they shoot!

My LGS has a LH T3X Lite Stainless in-stock, I think the un-threaded models are still discounted 15%.

What are you loading under the 88s?

Mine cut to 19” has been shooting 88’s well too with 4350 but my dope shows them moving a bit slower than I hoped… new chrono will be here soon so I’ll know for sure.

The rifle is a joy to shoot and carry with a can on it though. Super happy with it.

I bought them from Copper Creek; don't load my own. I haven't chrono graphed them but the 88s are definitely not moving super fast. Easily my favorite rifle to carry and shoot regardless.

Mine is an old T3 and I bought a factory 1:8" barrel from UM. They cut it to 18" and threaded and I had my local gunsmith swap it on for me. So yes it's a new one but as mentioned previously they make 2 options from the factory. Not sure what the point is of the 1:14" since mine put 10 rounds of 50 gr vmax into a 1" circle at 100 yards. I've never done that with any other rifle before.

Is anybody on this thread having difficulty stabilizing 88 ELDMs with an 8 twist. I've researched it extensively and it appears that some say we need a 7 twist and many say an 8 twist is marginal. Maybe it is rifle dependent. 8 twist seems to work for some people with the 88s and not for others.

I'm going to start loading them for my 8 twist 22-250. My concern comes from the fact I have been considering having my 22-250 re-chambered to 22 Creedmoor. However, if the 8 twist is only marginal, it may be better to just rebarrel with a 7 twist barrel. I guess I'll find out sometime this winter; however, input based on personal experience would be appreciated.
I am which is frustrating as per the berger stability calculator it should be fine. Its not.
