7mm PRC reloading advise

68.0 grains early on gave me right around 2940 and I just checked my notes, and I got right at 2960 with the same load at around 80 rounds. I'm now at 140 rounds but have not put it over my chrono to see how much velocity I have picked up. I hit pressure signs at 70.5 and accuracy was going south, so I took it back down to the 68.0 grain load that shot really well and that's where I think I'll stay. Obviously work up as every rifle is different.
I get 2900fps =/- out of my 22" Proof barrel running a 175gr ABLR with 69.3gr N565 out of fired Peterson brass & a Rem 9 1/2 primer. BTO of 2.6650". More importantly, it's an accurate load. I loaded up to 71.3, but saw no accuracy improvement.

My Bergara Premiere with a 24" barrel is shooting the Berger 184gr hybrid target 2977 fps using 68.7gr of VV 565 with all the inside case mouths and bullets lubed with Neolube No.2 with a SD of 6, .015 off the lands

Those are pretty good numbers, what were your groups like? Also did you run into any clickers?
No clickers, I don't know about group sizing, I was shooting steel at 500 yards, 18"x18" plate. Using 2x fired Peterson brass.

That’s good to know, I started running into issues on my 6.5 PRC after my 5th reload on Peterson and Lapua brass.
Have a gunsmith touch it up with an AW2 reamer. All of the PRC cases have the potential to develop clickers, especially if you stand on it with your load. That's the unfortunate dilemma with cute tolerances that end up interfering.

I’m over here with a new 7PRC just hoping to have factory ammo perform. I do not need another hobby rabbit hole of reloading to learn

Try Ramshot Grand. I found a good load at 3008 fps , Sd 8.3 with 180 eldm , Peterson brass , 215 M from a 22” C6 barrel.

I am happy to see this, going try this powder with a few different cartridges. Thanks for posting

I got nice groups with 66.5 grains of N560. 2815 fps out of a 20” barrel. I’ll try to bump up to 67 grains and will also try some N570 next time.

My favorite 7 PRC combo has been with N565 and 180 Berger VLD-H's in a 20" Proof CF.

I had an incredibly hard time the first 250+ rounds with this gun until I touched up my chamber with the AW2 reamer. I would get heavy bolt lift/swipes/you name it on loads that shouldn't even have been close to pressure. Once I hit the chamber by hand with the AW2 reamer everything was great. It was very intimidating to try it, but it is really easy.

jzs0040, where did you get the reamer from? Did you just spin it by hand? Thanks!

There was a rokslide member by the name of charliehorse27 that had a 6.5 and 7 PRC AW2 reamer that he was renting out. I'd recommend sending him a DM and he was super easy to work with.

Send me a DM and I'll give you the details. I followed a step by step process from longrangeonly.com.
