This years run just won't quit. Latest report from F&G says over 3.6 million reds hit the counters in the Kenai. Wife and I made another run to the river yesterday and we both caught our limit of 6 in under 2 hours. At least today we had an opportunity to use the fish cleaning table at the river so we only had to carry fillets back to the truck.
Wife is already brining up a batch to run through the smoker tomorrow.

Whatttt no Mexican flags , no tequila sunrise , no big purp? Any on iron or plugs ? I was explaining how to slide through a school and to make sure they had casting poles ready the throw on a jig stop to a buddy and he looked at me like I was crazy. I can't wait for the water to get closer to us

I just got back from our WSB/Halibut trip. We nailed them. twenty WSB, limits plus the crew added two more, five legal halibut and various other ocean criters. The trip started out pretty tough, we got beat up pretty bad making our way to SBI. Two guys actually got thrown out of their bunks, one of them twice. It was still pretty bad this morning but we fished the leeward side of the island. Moving around produced zero WSB, but the five halibut. When the seas stared to calmed down went looking for the WSB. just at noon View attachment 915429we put the first one of the deck. By1:15 we had our limits.
That is a pile of amazing food there!
