7mm-08 all around hunting load

I have two loads that I use.
140 grn Accubonds with 42 grns of Varget
140 grn Berger VLD 42.2 grns of Varget.
Both are very accurate

Interesting! I vote slow barrel. My 145lrx load posted previously is faster in a 20" barrel.
I ended up playing with varget with those 140 absolute hammers. Max speed at 3060fps and .3-.4 MOA accuracy at 3003fps. Wrecked the deer I shot at 392 yards.

I wish I could find 140 Accubonds- I wouldn’t have 600 150 ELDX.

I've loaded for the 7mm-08 in 20" barrels for about 5 years now. 140's at 2800-2850 are about what I expect. 120's in the 2900-3000 fps. are common. If you use CFE 223, you can reach 3100+ with 120's. When loading 160's, you are hoping to find an accurate 2700 fps. load.

All around load? Hard to beat 140 Accubonds but I'd take an accurate load of 139 LRX's at 2850 all day. That is, if you can find 139 LRX's. ;)

I've been searching for 155 gr Terminal Ascents bullets for my 7mm-08 Tikka. Found 155gr TA loaded bullets avaliable for the 7mag, but not finding any component bullets. Found out about this bullet while searching to replace Partition/AB bullets.

If anyone has had a chance to play with these, I would absolutely love to hear it!!! I find these, and Nosler will be a distant memory for me, assuming the rifle likes them.

I have also looked high and low for these with zero luck. They seem to perform well but unsure of accuracy.

Brief update on results from my season. I’ve shot 7 white tails so far this season. 5 doe and 2 buck (230# and 190#). Solid results from my 18” 7mm-08 with the 131 gr hunter hammer bullets. 6 out of the 7 deer dropped in their tracks.

OK, nice! Have to take a look into the Hammers. Not to many reputable bullets at 130gr for 7mm-08. Always wondered why, most seem to be 120/140/150.
