I waited for a while for a Howa barreled action, then found a Ruger American Gen 2 in 6mm ARC locally… Added a Timney trigger, Area 419 muzzle break, Arken EP5 5-24 x 56 scope, MDT Ground bipod and (FINALLY) my MDT Field Stock arrives tomorrow.

Working up loads now. Best so far is 0.35” at 100 yards!

Hope ya’ll don’t mind me joining in with my non-Howa build… (I wanted one!)

I have a Maven RS1.2 in route for mine, but I’m concerned it is too much scope for this trim little gun. I was going to get an SWFA 3-9 but drug my feet and they sold out. I see there is one in the classifieds though.

Maybe I should grab that or a Huron/Credo instead of the Maven?

@The Guide do you like the Maven on yours?

Id be curious on this as well. Tempted of the Maven or just get a NXS
I have one Mini Action with the 3x9 Huron and one I put the Maven 1.2 on. The Huron rifle is the 20" heavy barrel and the other is a 22" sporter. Both are chambered in 223. The 22" with the Maven and a can is more comfortable to carry than the 20" heavy barrel with no can. The 20" is barrel heavy and wants to auto rotate on your shoulder. The 22" with the can and Maven stays pretty vertical. The 20" heavy barrel is very steady on the bipod and moves little on the the shot and the 22" sporter is very accurate but moves more after the shot. Both are easy to shoot. My son went 10 for 10 on shooting 16.9 oz water bottles from 150 to 200 yards this summer with the 20" heavy barrel rifle. I just put the 22" sporter barrel rifle together late fall so it doesn't have as much use yet but is my favorite 223 right now. I plan on using the 22" sporter and the Maven to shoot long distance ground squirrels this spring. The 20" heavy barrel with the Huron isn't going to work for that because it is a set and forget scope.
