The 22ARC idea is appealing to swap with my 6ARC
I have a Brownells outside action wrench similar to that. May have to talk to my wife and see what she wants to do with her 308.
They did a really nice job with the Mini version of those VG stocks. I’m kind of curious if they have the same long trigger reach as the Tikka version?Stockys Vg, .223, 16” factory barrel, 19 ounce optic, 13 ounce suppressor, oversized bolt knob, JO bottom metal
7lbs 6oz. You should be right on with weight.
35” no can, 40” with can
This is my wife’s rifle and my stock and can. I’ll be swapping in 6mm, Swfa 3-9. Weight won’t change more than an ounce or two.

Did you happen to get the individual component weights while you had the barrel off?
Thanks! It’s not with me right now.
I’ll get my buddy to weigh them though.
this also has been done on this and other sites and a search will turn it up.
Thanks!
The bare action (receiver only) weight is the part that seems to have the most discrepancy from the very few posts that I’ve found.
I also haven’t seen the factory barrel weight posted yet, unless I glossed over it. I suppose that one would be easy enough to math out, given that the other component weights are accurate.
Those of you running barrel lengths under 20. Are you happy with velocity’s or do you wish you had the longer 20 or 22” barrel? I bought the 20 mini Howa BA and want to cut it down to 18. I don’t need screaming velocity’s and I do/will be reloading for it.
That’s what I was hoping someone would say. I would love to be around 16-18.I’m comfortably hitting 2800fps with 16” barrel in .223 with 77TMK on my wife’s mini. 2.4”oal.
I’m comfortably hitting 2700fps with 16” barrel on my AR at 2.3” oal 6ARC 95tmk. Assuming ability to load longer on the mini, I expect 2750fps+ in a 16” barrel. 87 vmax faster, 108 eldm slower
For my use cases, and generally speaking with these two cartridge case capacities, I don’t see the point in carrying a barrel longer than 16”, 18” max. Especially if you can load long.
Solid info right there. Much appreciated.Howa mini 6ARC sporter barreled action:
Bolt: 9 ounces
Receiver/trigger: 13.5 ounces
22” sporter barreled: 35.5 ounces
Magazine empty: 2 ounces
Bottom plastic: 1.5 ounces
Action screws: .5 ounces
Total as shipped from brownells: 62 ounces
Most aftermarket metal bottom metals are 3-4 ounces.
Solid info right there. Much appreciated.
Legacy Sports lists the mini “action” (intentionally ambiguous) at 10.1 oz, which seemed a little fudged, even for a naked receiver.
I’ll buy it if trigger weighs 2.5-3 ounces.
I also wish I didn’t have to go through legacy to get Howa stuff.
