Nice! Love those dark antlers! How was bullet performance?
First shot went center of ribs, a touch higher than I’d prefer. Only about 1/4 of the on-side lung was left. The other lung was bloodshot. Buck dropped at the shot. I picked up my brass and he was trying to run away and second shot hit the paunch, and passed through. He was a mess inside. It was raining so hard, I didn’t take the time to investigate further than that.

Another critter for the 6mm ARC this year. 160ish yards 108eldm. My wife shot a little high as he was uphill from us and she didn’t compensate for the angle. First round dropped him and the second round finished it. Both rounds were complete pass throughs. Didn’t do any necropsy photos since I just quartered him to carry him out.

Very impressed with this caliber. Both the eldx and eldm bullets have dropped animals for us this year. Going to chase bulls with my gas rifle next week and try the eldx if the opportunity arises.

Has anyone tried the 90gr or 104gr tipped hammer bullets?

I'm curious what kind of damage they'd do on deer and elk.

From what I have seen others post it seems that the hammers generally create a lot of damage and pretty quick kills for mono bullets.

I'm not a mono shooter, but if someone wants a bullet that does adequate damage and also exits, maybe these would work.
I posted pictures of the 88gr HH a few pages back, imagine the tipped version would be even better.

tikka 243 1:8, swfa 10x, VG stock, sig SRD762 can
87 grain hammer absolute hunters, big 70 yard shot, 3000fps impact velocity.
happy with the performance. deer ran 10 yards, walked five. laid down. expired.
minimal meat lost. thought maybe the DTACs would be worth trying but @revoked's deer looks deader than necessary...maybe i'll stick with hammers....

My dad used a 6mm remington 722 as his primary deer rifle for about 3 decades (until he got a suppressed .308). My brother and I killed our first few deer with that gun and 100 grain partitions, it’s a great combo!
